He's a bit too greedy. Should stop shooting from all over the place. That's what Ronaldo did back in his youth and it was just as frustrating.
Actually his shots were close to the goal. If he keeps them this dangerous then he should keep shooting.

No he shouldn't, because he's not troubling the keeper at all, is he? I don't mind him having a pop now and again, like from a well worked corner but not from 35 yards out at a stupid angle. It's just wasteful and a wrong decision.

He gets noticably sloppy in the last 10 minutes of games. He really does run himself into the ground. Hopefully it's something he can adapt to.
Think it’s just youthful enthusiasm. Rooney was the same but he calmed it down eventually and saved his energy.

I don't mind him being greedy tbh. I think he's got a great shot on him and it's good to see him taking that responsibility on. We did take a lot of speculative efforts tbh, but I think that's obviously been encouraged

Superb goal, a fantastic cross for Lingard's chance, also decent effort just off-target from a corner and a shot that was blocked after Herrera played a nicely weighted pass for Young to cross. Even his off-target free-kick from a wide angle wasn't too bad. Stupid challenge near the end and also guilty of carelessly running the ball out of play in the last 10 or so mins.

All the shots were pretty close to the goal. If he was lucky, he could have nicked another one.

I guess we'll agree to disagree then. I personally think he should work on his descison making, especially when to shoot or when to lend the ball to someone else in a better position. Overall I'm thrilled with his form. I'm not trying to criticise him too much as he will iron those kinks out of his game.

I think his decision making is excellent. It's the one area that Mourinho really improved with him.

He works his socks off for 60 or some minutes, then tiredness creeps in. The problem is we have very little back up for him.

Stunning goal and general first half performance. Very selfish after that, but I think this is the next phase of his development m. He’s still working it out and putting it all together.

I can see him being a 40+ goal man the season after next.

Love him! I am so excited for every game just to see how he plays.

He's gone from being inconsistent over a season with brilliant games to being inconsistent over 90 minutes with brilliant moments.

I am by no means saying he will be anywhere near as good as CR7 but he reminds me of him a lot.

I think back to Ronaldos early years at the club and it's little like dejavu watching Rashord at the moment.

The sky is the limit for him!

He's playing out of his mind, it was a real class goal he scored there. Confidence can turn a player around just like that and he's full of it right now. There were some questionable, greedy decisions but when you have scoring boots like that on, might as well get greedy. I think his scoring form will continue and Lukaku has a long way to go to ever get his starting spot back.

I've said this before and I'll say this again: he's the "Thierry Henry" we've been promised twice before.

First it was supposed to be a young Welbeck breaking through into the first team. You could see the similarities in terms of their intelligence and one-touch play.

Then it was Martial, with his laser-guided finishing and obvious shared nationality.

Hell, even Lukaku has been taken under Henry's wing and is supposedly trying to become more like him at national team level.

It's ironic that the least Henry-esque forward in his youth is the one who's getting closest to blossoming into that style as he matures. Rashford covers the entire width of the pitch, playmakes everywhere he goes, has no obvious weaknesses, offers a massive threat in behind with his blistering pace, and scores bucketloads himself.

I'm not saying Rashford will necessarily reach that level - Henry was the best player in the world for about three seasons, so it's a big ask - but it's the blueprint he appears to be following. If we're lucky, Rashers could get there.

He has began showing things i didn't fully believe he had. For some time he looked like a speed merchant and nothing more. Curious to see how he develops.

Under Mourinho, he looked likely to be just another young player with huge potential that was going to be largely unfulfilled. I think the prospect of him heading off to another club and becoming the player he has the potential to be was very real. He often looked frustrated under Mourinho but then he wasn't the only one.
I just hope he stays at United for a very long time and plays a part in years of success, obviously.
Can't recall who it was, but one pundit said a while back he was a young guy with a lot of potential but sadly he was playing under Mourinho and he was wasted there, or words to that effect.

Looks confident and ready to lead the team at 21 years old. Great goal today but he's not just a goalscorer, he also looks for his teammates and is often involved in moves for other players

My MOTM and absolutely top tier but only for 60mins. Thought he was pretty wank after that, he did nothing right really.

Seems tired in his defense and no other player outside of Herrera and Pogba should be able use that excuse.

It really looks like Jose halted his growth by sapping the confidence out of him. Looks a completely different player. I mean that goal, the dribble and finish was Suarez-esque.

I do think that the new play style is sapping them quite a bit in the last 20 minutes or so. They spent 2 years playing with much less movement. Trying to then go high octane for 90 minutes isn't easy to change mid season when you also have games to play and can;t just train on it. Hopefully they all get better in the next month and we don't quite looked shagged as early.

Doesn't it take a full season to implement it though? Just judging on Pep & Klopps first season in the league, their teams both burnt out after Xmas.

Using that as an example, we could easily burn out before the season ends.

No problem at all with him taking shots from all over. He’s our most potent attacking outlet right now, and IMO it’s beneficial to have a player that the other team are always concerned about shooting no matter where they are, it will unsettle them to some extent, knowing the shot can always come in.

His confidence is through the roof at the moment. Total menace on and off the ball, immense work rate.

I think we really might have lucked out with this lad, his talent is phenomenal, great athlete, can head the ball and is strong with both feet. People also seem to rave about his attitude and I can see him wanting to spend his entire career here. I am going to go out on a limb and say I honestly think he will end up as the best player to come through the academy since Scholes with well over 150 Utd Goals.

Jesus that’s a hell of a statement considering Harry Kane isn’t even a 40+ goal striker. rashford will be s 30 to 35 goal striker I reckon.

Remember Maureen hanging him to dry after an indifferent centre forward performance once every six months and immediately recalling the donkey Lukaku (after a huge drought). Jesus christ, dark days.

We even had Fellaini playing number 10 to boot :lol::lol:

Reminds me so much of Henry at the same age. Speed, workrate, directness, technical ability. Just needs his Bergkamp

Is there a player like Bergkamp in world football right now? Can't think of someone even remotely similar
