Really looking forward to how the Lingard lovers are going to defend that performance from him.
-his movement was world class
-he put in a shift
-local lad
-his runs created the space for other players to pass and score
-there's more to football than scoring goals and if you can't see that, you know nothing about football
-he got about the pitch
-we can't have a team of 11 superstars
-we've won with Nicky Butt and O'Shea and Fletcher
-he was played out of position
-did I mention his movement

No stats will translate a bad control that results in the death of an attacking move resulting with a backpass. It'll be a successful pass in terms of stats but the reality is that Lingard often kills moves because he doesn't have the technical ability to take the ball on to the best angle or to pass the ball with any precison or the strength to ride challenges. As a result, he passes it backs and recycles possession at times where there are openings that need quick thinking and quick execution

He’s attacking player in a front three whose job is to create or score. He does neither of those things well, so then what is the point of him?

Mane, Salah, Sterling and Sane aren’t strikers yet hit double figures.
Those guys ain't no squad players, they are way better than Jesse.

Please explain that term. In your opinion, what is the role of attacking squad rotation player in Man Utd? What is his job when he plays as a "squad rotation player"?
It depends on the player's attributes, Jesse only excells at making runs (pundits rave about this when he plays well), he'll score the odd goal but that's about it. He's an overpromoted squad player atm, he's not suppose to be playing this much.

There was an instance where Dalot or Young was taking a throw in at the opposition end, Pogba was fighting for a position with someone Fred moved a bit and dragged another player away, Lingard just stood there hiding behind Bolly like an absolute coward expecting Pogba to play it out. That ladies and gentleman is a Manchester United attacker. Abysmal.

Lingard is basically useless in games where we’re not playing on the counter. He pretty much plays like this in every game we play like this. There is no surprise.

He’s a squad player that’s it. Lee Sharpe was better. Nani was better. Kanchelskis better and so was Beckham.

To think we had these players playing for us in a similar position. Now we have Lingard. It shows you how far United have fallen over the years.

Sounds about right, can't forget his world class movement!

To piggyback on that, why do we make so tough on ourselves to play a throw-in ? Our players like Lingard, are too scared ?

Oh the hyped up making runs. I am so bored of this crap . So how many goals has the making runs created for us ?

Every attacker makes runs. It's not like only lin has this niche skill. The only thing that makes lingard stand out is that he can only make runs and nothing else .

He scored 30 goals for United so far , he will be 27 soon. He has played more than 150 matches. This is the attacking standards at the club now .it's awful.

He can't even control or pass the ball straight. The fact the soslkjaer can't see it , scares me even more

Shocking performance. Not only did nothing happen, but he didnt even try. Summed him up in the last minute with that corner.

His passing and distribution is poor, that’s the main problem. And it’s a big one. We need to demand a much higher standard to seriously compete, but he’s not the weakest link.

That was Obertan level. Shocking stuff.

Spend less time on YouTube and convincing the world you've got 99 physical and step up on the pitch maybe?

Scared? Well I'm not sure if it's because they are scared, maybe they just know they aren't capable of receiving the ball comfortably, or doing anything useful with it. It boggles the mind that an attacker for United does that. I mean we all know how limited Lingard is, I'm sure he knows that himself.

Btw when last did Lingard have a good game when the team played poorly? He's totally dependent on the team.

Even McTominay showed he could play well despite the whole team being shite.

Can't disagree much, he is limited. But I think people are not judging him within the correct context because he has been overpromoted these last couple of years.

Really did nothing of note apart from waste a chance. And then went missing. Should've been the one to be subbed off.

He should be a bench option squad player. He’s not good enough to be a consistent starter.

We make so many excuses for bang average players & we wonder why we’re in the position we’re in.
Exactly. Worst thing is our board shares the same delusion as this section of fans that keep excusing our average players. That's why you see these average players getting more and more contracts and salaries every year while we're dogshite. Ridiculous and sad tbh.

It’s actually quite staggering, & scary, the amount of average players we have assembled.

David Beckham United stats.

Played 394
Goals. 85
Assists 152

These are the kind of stats a creative player for United should be doing. We’ve accepted mediocrity. Nobody should be defending him. He’s not good enough.

No no, we gave Jones a new contract so we could sell him to fund a top centre back. Don't ask me how that works, I just read it on here.

Well, for Jones case I bet you some still believe he'll come good once he's fit.

He's had stints at being an important first team player this season, but that's more damning of our lack of quality than anything.

Having excellent movement means nothing if you can't technically pull off stuff once you're in dangerous positions and he's extremely limited in this regard.

Few decent goals and a killer social media presence all it takes to get United fans on your side these days?

Not good enough. The scary part is that there too many of the not good enough variety in the squad.

He probably scored two goals but non of the the players, fans or refs noticed his movement is that ghostly.

27 years old this year. Just let that sink in for a minute.

Ive flipped flopped with my opinion that I think he is a good squad player, but I don't think he is to be honest. Poor in 90% of the games he plays, and goes hiding far too much. We need rid of average dross from the squad, and he unfortunately is one. Would much rather give Chong or Gomes a chance.
