What's Rahul done in ODIs to convince anyone? It's the format he's been least impressive in. Don't get me wrong, I think he's packed with talent but I wouldn't have him in the ODI team.
I'd have gone with Shaw, Iyer and Pant. There's no point in having two samey openers doing the exact same job at the top of the order.
OK - that'd have been a complete and utter disaster. This is like 5 years ago when people were saying Unmukt Chand should open. Rohit and Dhawan are different class.

I don't deny that - I'd have gone something like Shaw Dhawan Kohli Rohit Pant Dhoni Pandya Kumar Kuldeep Chahal Bumrah. Instead we might end up seeing Rohit and Dhawan play the same non-adventurous, take your time to get 40 off 60 innings'.
Of course, if the pitches aren't flat then maybe those boring innings' will be more than useful. Time will tell.

I think India will get embarrassed this world cup. I don't think Kohli and the bowlers will be able to carry them through this one.

I still think India will be fine considering the format. Top 3 will fire and that would be enough in most of the matches to get us over the line. Also, the bowling attack is one of the best right now so unless nothing works for them and they all become shit overnight , we would be fine. Not reaching the semis will be a huge disappointment and end of kohli as captain. After semis anything can happen.
