Can't they let her wear a mickey mouse mask or whatever kids like these days.My sister in law teaches Year 3 students and has been told that she will not be allowed to wear a face mask in case it scares the children.

I was pretty good, wasn't I?works for me.
There are loads alright. Long gone the days when it was only me and @Dwazza Gunnar Solskjær (not actually a doc but did a damn good impression of one for years)
Doest it make sense? Surely those children are going to see a lot of adults wearing them on their way to school and many parents will wear them when they are in public transports with them or when they pick them up from school? Also children aren't that easily scared, they understand a lot of things when it's explained to them.My sister in law teaches Year 3 students and has been told that she will not be allowed to wear a face mask in case it scares the children.
Not to derail this thread, but you're delusional if you think Bob Lazar's past (the university he studied at, where he worked) were not magically erased. Do your research. The world isn't as beautiful as you think it is.If you think Bob Lazar was legit, and debunked conspiracy theories on Covid are worth pursuing, you’re pushing shit uphill in this thread.
Use the conspiracy thread for crazy people.
We cornered the market between us. Before all these over-qualified young whipper snappers started stepping on our toes.I was pretty good, wasn't I?
If you’re going to go as far as suggesting magic is real.....Not to derail this thread, but you're delusional if you think Bob Lazar's past (the university he studied at, where he worked) were not magically erased. Do your research. The world isn't as beautiful as you think it is.
Black kids in school learning goes against the common daily mail readers beliefs. They've edited out the black kids in the picture as well to add to what a joke this newspaper is.

If that person had learned to move out of the way, the tree wouldn't have fallen on him. Another person failed by our teacher.Remember the time the Mail blamed striking teachers when a tree fell onto someone?
It's quite clear why they've done that and it's not the reason you want it to be.They've edited out the black kids in the picture as well to add to what a joke this newspaper is.

This phrase should be stamped on the forehead of every conspiracy nutNot to derail this thread, but you're delusional if you think Bob Lazar's past (the university he studied at, where he worked) were not magically erased. Do your research. The world isn't as beautiful as you think it is.
Look, I'm not into conspiracy theories at all but that in particular did happen. His past was removed. Sometimes we like to brush something away without doing any research into what we don't agree with. I used to be like that too. It's all good.If you’re going to go as far as suggesting magic is real.....
You do you man. I already know exactly where this will go and how much value there is in it for anyone with a brain.
Obviously I’m making a joke with ‘Magic’
Thanks, we are doing our best - hope you're OK.I totally agree. As good a job as the carers often do (and it is a job where you don't get much thanks or appreciation), it will never be like family.
The cultural differences are certainly interesting too. My Dutch in laws see it as perfectly normal to go to a care home if you're older and no longer coping/ your family are bit further away etc. My Egyptian in laws baulk at the idea.
That's great news about your neighbour, hope you guys are staying safe.
Think you’re reading way too much into that .They've edited out the black kids in the picture as well to add to what a joke this newspaper is.

Couldn’t make it up.So BoJo said go to work but avoid public transport....then

So how is that supposed to work??
So basically, go to work in central London but don’t use public transport and to make sure you don’t use public transport we’re going to charge you for using your car instead. Walk and cycle instead, even though we know that most of you who work in central London live miles away because you’re not multimillionaires.Mr Khan said the government deal was necessary because coronavirus had had a "catastrophic impact on TfL's finances".
"I want to be completely honest and upfront with Londoners," the mayor said.
"This is not the deal I wanted. But it was the only deal the government put on the table and I had no choice but to accept it to keep the Tubes and buses running."
One article cited just nine drivers out of 4000 were on 100k salaries [source]. From that article, the average base salary at the time of the article being written was £51,000 and goes up to about £70,000 when including benefits and overtime.Couldn’t make it up.
I mentioned a few days ago that TFL are gonna want to start getting their money back due to the disgusting salaries they pay to some staff (for example 100k for some drivers) and the fact tube travel took a huge drop over the last three months.

You too, chuck. oates has been out of the house once since March 2nd, and that was just to drive me somewhere - he stayed in the car. He's still remarkably sane (well, you know .... relatively). Please don't take any risks. Ever. Okay, maybe that's a bit too much.

The most concerning thing is that whilst testing is staying consistent the number of new cases is barely changing.
But isn't that strategy just delaying?I don't think the lockdown was for the sake of it, it has reduced community spread and saved a lot of lives. I'd love to have it coupled with aggressive testing, tracking and quarantining as you mentioned but that takes time and competence to set up. And a lockdown is better than half-arsed delay measures which government was insisting on during delay phase which did absolutely nothing really.
Incidentally I do think if we had locked down earlier it would have made an exponential difference in deaths. When you're starting from a smaller community prevalence I think with something like this it helps massively.
As a guy just about under 45 the thought of going to the pub makes me say yes to this idea. But isn't that strategy just delaying?
I was all for lock down originally, but with the data we've now got, doesn't it suggest we should have done a partial lock down, with very strict social distancing for people over 45 and for those with under lying conditions?
Especially now, as we are entering the summer months, wouldn't we be much better off allowing mass community spread among the 30 million under 45 year old's? Otherwise aren't we just waiting for a vaccine that might not come and face the same issue each winter until it does?
Up until the end of May only 360 people under the age of 45 had died. Yesterday they NHS released data saying 95% of them had underlying conditions and the vast majority of those conditions were things they would have been aware of. So, in terms of healthy people, or those who had assumed they were healthy and under the age of 45, we are talking around 60 deaths. If 10% of the nation have had it, then if every other healthy under 45 year old in the country got it, we are talking under 600 deaths. When you look at death rates from other circumstances, it's obvious that we accept odds on activities where 600 out of 30,000,000 die, as a matter of routine, otherwise we wouldn't leave the house. So I think, we might be better off, being very strict with social distancing from people over 45 and with underlying conditions, but opening up all pubs, parks, stadiums, restaurants, schools and uni's to those under 45. Of course it will be logistically challenging (as many of the jobs needed to run those things are done by people over 45), but wouldn't it overall save more lives, as the spread would be much lower next winter?
Yeah I’m sure there are more and other reasons but I think the salaries they pay their staff would contribute to their problems because they are definitely too high. Even nine drivers earning 100k is ridiculous. One article cited just nine drivers out of 4000 were on 100k salaries [source]. From that article, the average base salary at the time of the article being written was £51,000 and goes up to about £70,000 when including benefits and overtime.
However, the main reason TfL have struggled financially in recent years is predominantly because they lost a major yearly government grant [source] and secondly the Mayor initiated the fares freeze on PAYG fares [source]. Note that travelcard/ season ticket fares still went up during that period. Note from the article as well, the fares freeze was only promised until the end of 2020 anyway. I'm not sure if there were any recent announcements to extend the fares freeze.
Haven't they explained that care homes are the cause of this mainly?
Yes.Haven't they explained that care homes are the cause of this mainly?
It's been in the 3k range for few days only, coming down from a long period of 4.5-6.5k.The most concerning thing is that whilst testing is staying consistent the number of new cases is barely changing.
Was looking for a news article about this and the first one I found said:Slovenia have said they're out of the epidemic?
Are they sure they’ve thought this through?!The Slovenian government late on Thursday (14 May) called an official end to its coronavirus epidemic, becoming the first European country to do so, after authorities confirmed less than seven new coronavirus cases each day for the past two weeks.
People now arriving in Slovenia from other European Union states will no longer be obliged to go into a quarantine for at least seven days as was the case from early April, the government said in a statement.
God forbid the working class can do well for themselves!Couldn’t make it up.

Care homes still count though!Haven't they explained that care homes are the cause of this mainly?
The government has explained that we will officially be out of the epidemic on the first of June. Course a significant portion of the measures will still apply, so the whole epidemic label doesn't mean all that much. They mostly did it so they can avoid paying out the help packages in June.Slovenia have said they're out of the epidemic?
