A few years ago I would have given them the benefit of the doubt and sided on it being a simple mistake but having lived the last decade under this government I can only presume it is because they are either that stupid or they are trolling. Either way, they are evil cnuts.

Some responses to this tweet is why the Tories get a majority. Fecking depressing.

That's just incredible. First of all denying all responsibility of government even though it's widely available what they've said and then saying the solution is to get others companies and other individuals to do the work. I'm not sure how anybody can watch that and think they're doing even a slightly adequate job.

if it was an MP making a complaint about anti-semitism and she was responded to in that way by a minister, it would be front page news across the board and their would be serious amounts of shit hitting fan. instead this is dismissed as 'woke' 'snowflake' behaviour. Atkins knows exactly what shes doing (ironically enough even scolding corbyn at the same time), and shes playing to her gallery, who via a quick look on social media are lapping it up. lots of comments how she put the MP in her place. although we can all guess what the 'place' is for an opposition MP who happens to be a woman and Asian. Only if there was an Minister, who also happens to be Asian and a woman and has experienced her fair share of racism, that could make a stand, perhaps Atkins might want to find her boss.....

I mean it's literally a joke from the film 'Captain Ron' with Kurt Russell and Martin Short so probably yes.
The one where Kurt wears an eye patch? Surely that quote's not a lift directly from that?

I've been trying to find the source of the tweet's content. Seems to have been around for a decade but always linked to the Home Office but I simply can't believe it's true.

It'd be unlike then to be even accidentally humorous rather than just brutally callous.

Yeah that one. No it's not a quote as such but literally the exact same gag in the film which leads me to believe it must be a joke.

Two homes raided in the investigation into the leaked Hancock footage.

Never mind that he's having an affair with someone whose family has benefitted financially through dodgy dealings from Hancock's department. No, we only need to investigate how the public found out about it...

Might be a few more in the government worried about tapes coming out.

Laura being impartial again. Good of her to decide what the truth is for us.

It’s so weird that GBN are expecting him to be some sort of ratings saviour. He was an effective politician because he’s a lizard (well, frog) of a man but he’s void of any sort of charisma and even rabid Brexiteers find him a bit bland an irritating.

He’s not exactly Trump who for all his ridiculous faults, is capable of drawing massive crowds and has a huge following. He’s really not a great orator and his debating skills are limited. I’m not sure what they think they are getting when they put him on screen with his own show.

I thought the rabid Brexiteers were mad for him?

What's Cummings role now? I keep seeing him, or articles on something he said at least once a week... If not more often!? And which of the right wing media lords boytoy is he? Dacre's or Murdochs? Needs to be one of them to be so permanently "relevant" without a job surely?

He is starting to sound like a jilted partner with an axe to grind

Just a pretty high profile disgruntled ex-employee it seems.

Should that be more important than the fact he had unique access into the decision making of this event? If he provides communications that corroborate his view, can you separate the man from the message?

I can think of someone on here who definitely will be able to.
