The mood swings in that thread is a gold mine for any aspiring psychologist. My favourite part is around 900 when they were just getting around to the idea that Ronnie might be serious about joining them, and starting to get giddy about it.
Like a Greek tragedy.

Not a chance he goes to Man Utd. They are finished. He is so far removed from them. He wants to join the best team in the world with the best manager in the world.
I have just ordered both of my sons Ronaldo 7 home t-shirts about an hour ago because I was going to buy them for their birthday and thought I would put Ronaldo 7 on the back ffs

He could just pick up the phone to ferguson if he wanted to go back to the rags, no need for any shenanigans.

This isnt about money at this stage of his career, it's about winning as many trophies as possible whilst he still can and getting personal accolades so he can finish being one of, if not the most decorated player in history.

As it stands, if it's a straight shootout between us and U*d, he's choosing City.
They can’t afford to sign Kieran Trippier or Ruben Neves on a fraction of the salaries without selling players first
Mendes is our guy he will not feck us over

I love how they were all for it...until they realised he was going to United.

Most on their have deluded themselves into thinking he joined us purely down to the fact that we've offered a better financial package. The view on there is that he was theirs but they couldn't get the numbers to work. This all falls down due to the fact that they had £100 Mill burning a hole in their pocket due to the Kane deal collapsing.

What page does the sudden realisation set in that it isn’t going to swing their way? Could quite locate it last time I looked.

Just had a glimpse though, and they really are a ratty lot aren’t they. Christ.
reading a post or two from every few pages is fun

It’s like watching a horror movie you’ve seen before, where most of the victims are too dumb to just leave the haunted house

It could be to increase ad revenue. The most frequently you have to load a new page the more times you get served a new ad.
It could be but knowing City fans if I had to bet on either theory it would be the page count theory.

Arsenal mania are similar, with a painfully small number of posts per page, so there's probably something in that ad revenue theory. Really makes those sites difficult to trawl through and laugh at.

The rollercoaster ride in their Ronaldo thread is fabulous.

Total despair after Rio's gif. Toys out the pram. Then a hero emerges - total elation after some fake itk on twitter says he's definitely going to City. Back to the deepest depths of despair not long after.

As transfer sagas go I don't think we'll ever see such a high profile tug-of-war start and end so quickly. Like the 8 weeks of the Eden Hazard window condescend into 12 hours.

I've been on that forum once. Scarred for life. They're absolute nutters on there.

The fans on here are night and day compared to that lot. Their reddit is chill (so is Chelsea's). I've not found a sane Liverpool forum yet

If you have a spare 4 or 5 hours (and it would take that long to read, literally), start reading their Ronaldo thread from page 450, which was early friday morning.
You have the sheer jubilation of the situation, leading into Rio's tweet, the fear dawning on them, accusing each other of being undercover 'rags', some even calling each other out to the loacal park for a scrap  ,. Tracking Mendez's plane, attacking Lescott for getting involved with Rio's tweet, crying over the possiblitly of City being played by us or Mendez, the hilarity of whats happening finally dawning on them, accusing long time City journo's and City Twitter users as being undercover rags, the insuing meltdowns, and 200-300 pages of pure copium.

Honestly phychologists could study that thread for years to come.

Also reading those 1000 pages really gives you an insight into how so many of them literally hate us more than anything else, inclduing their own club, and what signing a player like Ronaldo could of done for them at a time where they have no actual recognized striker.
Maan, after reading your post I've literally dedicated hours to reading that thread....and I have to admit it was absolutely worth it. My goodness they've gone from sheer jubilation and disbelief to complete deflation and depression.:lol:

This is the same forum and fanbase that didn't want to buy Kevin De Bruyne when they were linked to him because he was a Chelsea reject, "He couldn't get into Chelsea team why would get into ours".
That sum ups the level of intelligence of their fanbase.

This is a glorious watch. He had so much smirky arrogance at the start of the stream and then 1:16:00 into the stream, they both shit their pants when they see Rio Ferdinand’s tweet. You could feel the tension after that.:lol::lol:
