I’m American, but live in England (and Wales before this). How anyone can vote Tory after seeing the state of this country since 2010 is beyond me. They are ruthless power hungry leeches that have bled this country dry.

I personally think this country needs more statutes of slave traders. That's what millennials really need, instead of jobs and homes to live in.

You also forgot trans women, who apparently are a mortal threat to our way of life.

In terms of the 'mess left by the last Labour government' narrative by the Tories, I do blame Ed Miliband for his very weak response to that after he became leader in 2010.

In general he went to extreme lengths to distance himself and the party from their record in government, and therefore failed to sufficiently big up their many positive achievements, such as Sure Start centres and noticeably reducing child poverty, reduced class sizes, reduced hospital waiting times etc.

The 'disconnect' between different strands of the Labour party (they are 3 parties in one with the different factions often hating each other just as much as they hate the Tories) has really damaged their credibility post 2010.

And when those Ukrainian refugees do manage to get here...

Homes for Ukraine: Housing scheme called danger to refugees

Just heartbreaking the callousness of our government. As an avid listener to James O’Brien on LBC they’d been talking about this since a few weeks after it was launched, the notion that it was designed to fail, so the government could say they’d approved X number of VISAs without having to bring anywhere near the number of people in to the country.

Eh?

Think he's letting the strategy slip there. It's obvious to most that Boris is repurposing Ukraine's war into his chance to make Churchillian speeches.

I'd go as far as to say he's enjoying it. Sadly I've no confidence in the electorate seeing through it so they'll vote Tory like good little lambs.
