Can see a lot of people changing there mind on martial. I had an argument with some guy on here about it… I always believe in giving everyone a clean slate under a proper coach. If there still not good enough then get rid!

A good pre-season doesn't change the fact that he's a very average footballer but in a context where we may have to deal with Ronaldo leaving it's something at least.

This is more than just a flash in the pan showing like we saw from Pereira scoring random long rangers, this guy is contributing all over the pitch, barely recognize him.

I like his application more than anything else at the moment. Actually moving and running to close down for the team. Its always been his biggest flaw, which looks even worse when you aren't in form going forward.

Hopefully his loan move has woken him up and he performs at his best because we're certainly going to need him.

We'll score more with him in the team leading the line than with Ronaldo even if the latter is likely to be more prolific.

Hopefully he can stay fit because that's his biggest issue. There's still a useful player in there.

I don't think you understand the term average.

"Mediocre, not very good". Which accurately sums up Martial as a footballer at this level.
He's been in shit form for a couple of seasons but average he most certainly is not, he's a brilliant footballer when he's at it.

He's had occasional seasons of good form in what has overall been a mediocre Manchester United career from a mediocre Manchester United player.

Not many strikers left on the market so Ten Hag nurturing him back into team looks natural way of managing the attacking option situation.

Keep it up.

Ignoring the fact he has scored twice I'm really chuffed ti see the effort from him more than anything else.

There possibly many chances to say this in future games. But maybe just be happy a player gives good performance.

We defo need him to continue the effort cos the finishing will come. Hes certainly better up top than shifted out to the wing. Rather him closer to the opposition box.

Martial FC back in full blast, I love it. Get rid of Ronaldo and just trust him. If he stays fit, he'll be class IMO. Just please god stay fit Martial ...

It’s so obvious that he has to play a certain way/style or he doesn’t get a chance by Ten Hag.

Good stuff.

We’d need a replacement in if Ronaldo goes. I’m hoping we’ve turned a corner here but the reality is we can’t rely on him.

He will likely get injured/lose form and he’s invisible when the latter happens.

We need depth in order to counter the problem but ironically it’s when he faces competition he gives up.

He is sucking me in again.

Regardless of anything I do believe Rashford and Sancho will play better if we play with him up front than they will with Ronaldo.

He might take to Ten Haag and vice versa

If he manages to do anything remotely impressive this season it will be the biggest comeback by any footballer ever
I'd still take Dybala for free to provide cover if things won't be so peachy, but I still think there's a chance brewing for Martial as he was quite decent on the ball today and vs Pool.

Fully agree there. Problem if Ronaldo stays is he demands starts and I don't think he brings the best out of the others. Get someone who can compete and rotate with the ones we have and helps get the best of all of them.
