How would it galvanise the Tories??
They wouldn't suddenly go, "right, actually Lizz is actually a good leader, I back her fully"....would they??
Who knows anymore........
Hundreds of Tory MPs will lose their jobs if there is an election tomorrow, as one of them said last night here is nothing more ex than ex MP.
Some would definitely be able to go back to mates in the city etc and get jobs, but loads would not especially after the last few weeks, so any vote of no confidence will fail as they are scared of being out of work. They also have mortgages and face a huge rise in the cost of living. I'm not saying they are poor but they'll be worried, they're not all Rees-Moggs.
But they are stuck between a rock and hard place, if they change leader again the outside pressures for an election will become huge, they are already in the position where even the Tory supporting press is pointing out they have a leader and now policies that no one has voted on and that are in some cases diametrically opposed to the 2019 manifesto.
But if they stick with Truss life will only get worse, the winter could get really bad and if we start having rolling blackouts etc the pressure will grow and grow.
I think we'll probably end with an election either just before Christmas or in March as the party completely implodes.
