Still on path to recovery. Wording painted a negative picture of the situation by saying he's still injured. It's clarified on the website where Ten Hag once again confirmed that he's still doing individual training and will be back soon.
Thanks - that makes sense. Rather they ensure he is not out for another few weeks by rushing back. He helped with the equalizer against Everton but, the question becomes did him playing 30 min mean longer time out than if he had not played.

So our options up top a striker who’s always injured , a striker that likes to sulk if he isn’t playing and a player who doesn’t know how to play up there.
Scoring goals is going our biggest problem this season

What an absolute shitter of a tweet and some of the replies in here off the back of it are hilarious.

Manager said that he is progressing and isn't with the group but is back out on the grass, so yeah, the tweet is technically correct but lacking a fairly big chunk of information.

Yes, as we have seen already...Let's hope the Glazers can be manhandled into spending a bit of cash for a striker in the New Year.

If I had a nickel every time I heard something-something 'last chance to save his career'. The dude has nine lives here, not sure which one he's on currently, but it certainly doesn't feel like the 9th.
Different times. ETH will move on, already wanted to buy a striker so

Is it still the Achilles issue or us his current injury something new?
With him it's impossible to say. Started out as achilles now it's a back problem. Very rarely I've met a player who's injuries are surrounded by so much mystery. Lost count the last couple of seasons where very little information was given about his injuries other than he's due back shortly, or he's back in training only for him to be MIA for longer than the injury prescribed.

The situation is still the same, it's just the way it's being conveyed that confuses people.

Martial has been training since last week but still not with the main group yet as they're taking it slow and making sure he is fully fit.

The wording of these news are throwing people off. Currently Martial isn't injured as it's been posted in this thread, he's back training (as confirmed by Ten Hag in this latest press conference) but not yet ready to go and hasn't been integrated with the main group yet. He's still doing individual training but he's said to be close to return but they insist they are taking it slow.
It’s still frustrating to knows he’s missed half a season from nothing more than niggle injuries.

Was that the narrative ? I remember many here complaining that he wasn´t reliable and that hasn´t changed, he really can´t be relied on. Either he is frowning or he isn´t available.
He was playing perfectly fine when he was our main striker. He finished the season with 17 premier league goals and had a great partnership with Rashford and Greenwood.

After that season ended, we brought Cavani in as a last minute signing to soften the blow on us missing out on Sancho. Martial unfairly went down the pecking order as striker and possibly got the hump.

The following season we brought in Ronaldo and then Cavani got the hump.

This season Martial started as our main striker again and performed well when fit!

He is our new Saha. Excellent when fit but cannot be relied upon.

He wasn't put down the pecking order, he was being played whilst injured until he eventually lost his place.

Yes he started the first 3 games of the season as striker. Then got red carded against spurs and suspended for 3 games. After that he was rotated between LW, CF, RW without being the regular striker any more after Cavani was introduced into the team after being unfit for the start of the season.

He then missed the last 3rd of the season through injury.

I think this is a bit of a simplified version of his time here. Let's just say many have given up all hope but some are still holding out for the player his young talent certainly had us all hoping for.

I think that's pushing it. He's had long spells of being fit and bang average.

Give me Saha any day of the week over Martial.

Such a shame he can't stay fit - think we could go up another gear with him leading the line.

Fingers crossed he sorts himself out during the World Cup break - think we are going to need him in the second half of the season to have any chance of Top 4

Been clear for a while, ETH thinks highly of him.
Strange.. ive always read here that he is lazy and doesnt move/press. Now a manager who wants to press and knows how to press praises Martial for his pressing? Maybe redcaf wasnt right after all...

Did he give any indication if he’ll be on the bench Sunday?
ETG said he won't be available Sunday and hope he'll return before the World cup. He said he's been on the pitch doing individual training but hasn't been integrated with the group yet and they are still waiting for him to make that step before thinking of playing him in games.

Fulham? Should be starting against Aston Villa. Get him some minutes against Sociedad on Thursday then start him Sunday.
Yeah considering he's just started training with the team I doubt we'll see him start against Villa. He may get some minutes against them in the cup and start against Fuham.

An in form Rashford paired with a fit Martial is going to yield some goals. Looking forward to the next few games.

Please just stay fit Anthony.
Whatever the case it's so refreshing to look forward to any games seeing the team steadily improve with a set identity. That's all I ever wanted post Fergie.

Jesus. He even has Tony smiling. The man's a miracle worker. Look how excited we all are to see Tony back I'm the side. Who'd have thunk it?
