United will be well off financially under either groups ownership, but will likely be better off financially under the Qataris, because they will have a load of bogus sponsorship deals lined up from Qatari companies, to boost our revenues.

That’s the one thing we don’t need, plenty of companies sponsor United for all sorts of random things as it is.

Fair enough, some people are more fickle than I thought, but at £1.667 billion per opinion changed I'm not sure they have enough money to have a substantial influence.

I’d also assume underlying profits are considerably higher. The company is owned by three people who already have more cash than they can ever spend, a lot of the companies profits will be reinvested into the growth of the company as huge profits just mean lots more tax. We can be one of those investments.

The thing is, does any of your or our discomfort over this deal count for anything? People could write millions of posts on the net but the people that matter don't care about those. The only meaningful action anyone could take against this takeover would inevitably be something illegal which any sane person won't or shouldn't do.

In other words, we have no power over what goes on here. We could shout every game about wanting Glazers out but we can't choose their replacement. So as @kouroux said above, the best thing is to detach yourself from off field matters. That's what I do personally. Who buys us, whether Greenwood plays for us etc won't detract me from what our players do on the pitch, because at the end of the day I can only support the players on the pitch as a fan. In this day and age fans have no other power over the running of their club.

It was just a media hype story. I’d imagine some bidders won’t go public until they’ve been shortlisted - no point publicising failure - at that point the media war begins. The Qatar statement says they’ll reveal more then too.

Ineos won’t clear the debt. They are buying the club with debt (albeit put on Ineos). It won’t then make sense to get a new debt (with the highest interest rates in the last 20 years), to pay a debt that was taken with very low interest rates. That would be an absurd business to do.

Qatar on the other hand, might clear the debt, but we do not know it yet.

The best thing we can do as fans if Qatar are successful is not bury our head in the sand like city and Newcastle. Support our team on the pitch but continue to highlight and attempt to work with them to make changes for the better.
