There were people in this thread actually discussing a possible Mbappe to United transfer last night - literally walking parodies of the Qatar bid supporters. All it took was a fake rumour started by a Twitter account in Cardiff with 250 followers. As you say, the actual announcement day will probably be a good day to avoid the caf, whichever way it goes.

Share price has been pushing towards $23 in the last hour after nearly hitting $22 so maybe the market still has some confidence.

What I will say is that we've never really had to associate the owners with the club, until the Glazers really. This is because the club was self sustaining, built on the hard work of people and the fanatical support of us. Anybody associated with the club was just there in name. The issue for me is that, along with the obvious ethical issues, Qatar will probably very much start injecting their own money into the club and that will dilute everything that made us what we are. There will be no way to get away from it.
I'm of the opinion that we don't need to sacrifice our history or our values for money, we just need somebody to stay in the background, not siphon money and put a good business structure in place so we can go on as we are. We can afford to pay our own way and compete - we've just made an absolute hash of it for 13 years or so and have pissed a significant amount of our own money up the wall. With regards to a stadium, infastructure etc, other clubs have done it without significant investment from their owners. We don't need to go cap in hand to anybody.

I think you may have missed the point of my post. I was commenting on how it isn't just as easy as 'supporting another club' if you dislike who owns us, regardless of who it is.

Honestly, yes. I'd prefer for us to be owned by the Glazers than Qatar. I'd prefer for us to tumble down the divisions than be owned by a human rights abusing state.
I love this club a lot more than I love "winning". How do you think people support the majority of clubs throughout the world that never win anything?
