Didn't he have a head injury in the last game? He came off looking quite dazed. Before we start complaining about his "injury-proneness", are we sure has has not suffered a concussion?

The reality is we never get told what injury the player has when they first sustain it.

It is 3 months by the time they come back.

And to think, we sold a proven scorer to give Martial an extended run. Jeez, the whole hierarchy needs to be sacked.

We sold that scorer because he wanted to leave and wasn't bothered enough to train with the team all summer.

That asshole can't stay fit for more than three games in a row. Yet people are crying because we might sign competition for him.

It is time to move on and sell him.It is his 5 year at the club and there is no improvement in his game at all.

While we are at it, our brilliant coach made him play on the wings before he even reached the conclusion that he would like to leave.

Mourinho did stall his development, but we can't be having an injury prone number 9. I'm backing him, but we should be going for someone like Haaland if this is going to continue.

The guy was planning his move in 2018, Ole has little to do with it, we can blame the club for not bringing someone and not selling Lukaku quickly enough though. And it's for an other thread.

Planning is the key word though. He downed his tools in the summer after he was frozen out and not during the season.

If he was trusted enough, he would have stayed

He downed his tools when Mourinho was our manager, don't try to rewrite history. You don't even need to do that in order to justify your point about Martial, availability is the most important attribute and a player that is often injured is useless that's enough, no need to go out of your way to defend a player that was planning his move with his new agent in December 2018.

I repeat people were arguing a couple weeks ago we shouldn’t sign competition for him. Ridiculous.

He doesn't need competition, he needs to be a back up for both rashford and the new striker we get. We need a guy that can be in the box when chances are created, but can also provide a presence holding the ball up for our wide players. Martial can do the second part somewhat effectively, but his lack of goalscorers instinct and unwillingness/inability to make the right runs means he can never be the no.9 for this club.

I wanted him as our first choice, and still feel he has massive potential, but he's becoming a bit of a liability.

Not just him, but for some reason we always have a lot of injuries.

When did down his tools during the season ? Did he even say anything against the club or manager ? Looks like you might be the one rewriting history.

Whenever the tough gets going Martial goes missing, no surprise he's come down with an injury with games against Spurs and City and then the hectic festive period to come

Feck him off and get a proper number 9 in

Could really use him (and our other Frenchman) in the derby. Better time than any in recent years to face City. Their defence is fecked and Aguero is out. We need to capitalise, and a fit Martial alongside our other two front men will cause them major problems.

Neither one of them will play.

The going is always tough. Hopefully your replacement is immune to injury, or at least has better selection to ensure he picks his injury for Brighton at home.

Martial is not the answer and must be sold. Talent only takes you so far. He lacks to mentality, desire, and fitness to make it at the top level right now. We need dependable players as quickly as possible. Martial is anything but dependable, and hasn't been since he's arrived. Sorry Martial FC, but this guy aint it.

That sucks but I look forward to finally seeing more of Greenwood. It's time for a few Christmas miracles.

Scarcely been back and injured again.

You look around and see the likes of Jones, Shaw, Bailley, Rojo, Martial - and Sanchez is still our player who are always in and out of the sick room. Mostly in.

Did we just sign players who turned out to be as fragile as Christmas ornaments? Or should there be a serious investigation into what the medical staff/strength and conditioning staff are doing.

Yeah he did train with the team during the summer, went to an open session and he was there and training. I’m amazed how people make crap up to prove a point that is based on a lie.

Back on thread, I hardly noticed Martial was out, his deputy was very good.
