I tried to think of ways that mcgregor had a chance in the lead up to this, but the gap in skill quality was so big it made for an incredibly difficult to watch encounter. As soon as mayweather walked through Conor's uppercut, I wanted it to end to save Conor the embarrassment. By all accounts I am a massive Conor fan in the UFC and he's easily the best thing that ever happened to the sport but this wasn't close. Unfortunately the most likely explanation for the first two rounds was mayweather simply carrying him, and being able to pass it off as "figuring him out".
You've got to love the New experts on social media though, watch one exhibition fight and they can tell you that mcgregor was unlucky and looked brilliant. He didnt.
