Michael never got beaten to a world title by a team mate in his prime... he also won 5 on the trot...Fixed
Lets also not get onto how many more race wins or world titles he'd have if his seasons were 22 races long....

Yeah but Webber didnt sabatoge his career in response. Alonso on the other hand blackmailed Ron Dennis and caused one of the biggest scandals in F1 of all time“Multi 21 Seb, multi 21”
Herbert, Irvine and Barrichello is hardly an endorsement for quality is it?Michael never got beaten to a world title by a team mate in his prime... he also won 5 on the trot...

There pribably was, but you only hear about that a lot because you follow English media whoch is normal. I am quite sure you would read similar stuff on the likes of Hamilton if you read Spanish media.Jesus the 2007 season really gets worse with time for Alonso. Was there ever a driver more rattled by his team mate than Alonso that season?
Nico Rosberg was a far superior teammate than any teammate schmacher had. Lewis lost that title by a single dnf at malaysia and that was the season mercedes swapped around the mechanics from lewis and nicos team.Michael never got beaten to a world title by a team mate in his prime... he also won 5 on the trot...

Again other than Rosberg quitting, I dont think anyone took things as badly as Alonso in 2007.There pribably was, but you only hear about that a lot because you follow English media whoch is normal. I am quite sure you would read similar stuff on the likes of Hamilton if you read Spanish media.
He claimed he was offered a Red Bull drive in 2018 and turned it down. They have tried to hire him on at least 6 different occasions. To all those who keep saying that Alonso was one of the Goats of the sport why was he never offered a top team position after McLaren stopped being good? Do you think that Merc, RB and Ferrari deliberately hamstrung themselves by not picking such an excellent driver?
Not before time either, one of the worse drivers to ever grace a F1 track.Latifi gone and confirmed.
Schumacher has never been outscored by Jensen Button across 3 seasons when team mates either.Michael never got beaten to a world title by a team mate in his prime... he also won 5 on the trot...

90% of seasons aren't close anymore. Hardly surprising. So much for a close exciting season. Max could win the WC this weekend.
Another season like this one over 24 races would be awful for f1. Ferrari and Mercedes need to step up.90% of seasons aren't close anymore. Hardly surprising.
Only surprising thing about it this time is this one should have been close but Ferrari and Leclerc fecked it.
yeah - or the race director could just make up new rules and give him the title ... not totally unprecedented you knowSo much for a close exciting season. Max could win the WC this weekend.

Anyway rumours abound that Mercedes will copy the RedBull design for next season.
Becuase we just had the biggest changes in f1 for 40 years. To encourage closer racing, bring the field closer together. Instead one team has pretty much walked away with it.We had years on end of Merc being the best car. Not sure why there is such a big deal being made of it this year. Especially considering Ferrari actually had the better car for the first half a season or so. Only recently has the Red Bull actually been dominant.
Merc copying Red Bull is probably not going to catch them up. Ferrari have the best chance as they already have a concept that was for a good portion of the season the best one.
New Aero rules will almost always result in one or two teams nailing it compared to the rest. It's not surprising.Becuase we just had the biggest changes in f1 for 40 years. To encourage closer racing, bring the field closer together. Instead one team has pretty much walked away with it.
Need to give the new aero and wind tunnel rules time to have the desired effect but thatw ill take years. Another season as poor as this and f1will intervene again for the designs for the season after next.
Because Merc and Hamilton are not the ones walking to the titles. We had years on end of Merc being the best car. Not sure why there is such a big deal being made of it this year.
Ferrari are so competitive that Max is going to end up with one of the most dominant seasons ever.Because Merc and Hamilton are not the ones walking to the titles.
2019 and 2020 were easily the least competitive and most boring F1 seasons this millennia. At least this season has 2 top drivers in 2 equally competitive cars, even if one of the teams royally fecked up several times.
To make the championship more competitive, they switched to ground effect cars. In which perhaps the greatest F1 car designer of all time, who works for the best team with the equal best car last season, did his thesis.Becuase we just had the biggest changes in f1 for 40 years. Common misconception is that newey is responsible for the aero on this years RB. He isnt. He spent all his time designing the suspension, which is the best on the grid. The aero was a team effort as it was simply too much for one person to deliver. To make the championship more competitive, they switched to ground effect cars. I think the greater shock was that Ferrari were so close to them in the first place.
True, but to be fair Leclerc really should have at least 3 more wins, from Spain, Monaco and Baku/France/Silverstone.Ferrari are so competitive that Max is going to end up with one of the most dominant seasons ever.
Plenty of people have always complained about the lack of competition when Lewis and Mercedes were so dominant.
Go back far enough and you’ll see the likes of Santi having a complete meltdown even after the first race
suspect Mercs first major decision is zero pods or switch to the same as others... and given its September probably they don't have long to make that decisionWonder how difficult it would be for Mercedes and Ferrari to switch to pull rod suspension without going completely back to the drawing board.
And even then McLaren have shown that the right suspension is not a silver bullet.
Most likely have already made it. Lewis mentioned that they knew where to improve but couldn't until next year, biggest indication they might ditch the concept.suspect Mercs first major decision is zero pods or switch to the same as others... and given its September probably they don't have long to make that decision
I think that design choice has already been made, I doubt we will see zero pods on the Merc next season.suspect Mercs first major decision is zero pods or switch to the same as others... and given its September probably they don't have long to make that decision
