Iniesta has been our best player so far this season. Legend.
That was a great moment in the match I thought, too. It was as if the Rojiblancos had either forgotten Iniesta's quality or mistakenly believed he was over the hill as they tried to collectively pressure him into turnovers - after that run, there was noticeable space & respect given to him

Avoided the score and watched the game this morning. Very good win for Barcelona, they seem to have all the tougher teams away in the first half of the season. I'm interested to see how they cope with a leaner squad now they pretty much have two games a week every week until Christmas.

As for this game, Iniesta was great as has been said and Messi was brilliant when he came on, several quality runs weaving in and out of the opposition midfield. Neymar and Suarez weren't particularly great and yet they still got a goal and an assist between them. Neymar's free kick was absolutely stunning and you know he's capable of the that after the one he took away at Sevilla last season. He was also robbed of a possible goal with that clear handball too. Suarez spent too much time looking for free kicks instead of fighting for the ball as he usually does and he missed that chance he put on to the bar, though to be fair Neymar probably should have squared it to him in that break in the first half and the pass to Messi for the winner was very good.

Pen + red against Las Palmas, Aspas played through by a marvellous Pablo Hernández pass and taken down by Javi Varas, who's off. 1-0 Orellana from the spot.

2-0, Wass eventually taps it in after great work by Augusto Fernández and seeing his initial effort cleared off the line.

2-1, Sergio Araujo with Las Palmas' first goal in the top flight since 2002.. good anticipation and technique in rounding the keeper after a defensive mix-up by Fontas and great tenacity by David Simón to get the cross into the centre.

Missed the first half of the Atletico game. Why was Torres starting ahead of Martinez, Vietto?

did anyone follow liga adelante last year and knows Araujo? Why didn´t he play more often?
Do you mean this year Pedro? last year he played a lot. I didn´t know that he was in Barça B during a season. Next year won´t be in Las Palmas

Nice victory of Deportivo in Vallecas, they played really well. Everybody is happy with Victor , a young coach with a great future. The team seems more committed, the lines are very close in the field and are pressing very well. Today scored Borges, Luis Alberto and Lucas Pérez. Lucas did particularly well .He is born in Coruña so people feel special sympathy for him. Deportivo paid 1.5m € to Olimpiakos, if he scores 10/15 goals probably the club will sell him for 10/12 m€. Cartabia and Jonás Gutierrez didn´t play today. Next week Sporting is coming and la Mareona with them. It has been declared high risk game, for the incidents of last year, the fan who died in Madrid, so probably there will be fights between Riazor Blues and Ultra Boys.
From these 3 games I would also highlight Celta and how bad Sevilla has started. Simeone upset with Jackson Martinez, already said to the press that if he wants to play he has to wear the shirt (run). About Madrid and Benitez , not bad for a defensive coach . In three games he has given 75 minutes more to bench players than Ancelotti last year

Jackson will get his chance. Simeone had issues with Mandz too and he ended up getting lots of games and parted ways amicably. Cartabia is a loanee from Mestalla i want to see him do well but I've heard whispers about his attitude. Id like Simeone to experiment with a more attacking formation from here on.

There's a full program this weekend and another one mid-week in La Liga.

Today (from the BBC so all times are UK)

Getafe v Málaga 19:30

Sat 19 Sep 2015 - Spanish La Liga
Real Madrid v Granada CF 15:00
Valencia v Real Betis 17:15
Eibar v Atl Madrid 19:30
Real Sociedad v Espanyol 21:00

Sun 20 Sep 2015 - Spanish La Liga
Sevilla v Celta de Vigo 11:00
Deportivo de La Coruña v Sporting de Gijón 15:00
Villarreal v Ath Bilbao 17:15
Barcelona v Levante 19:30
Las Palmas v Rayo Vallecano 19:30

Barcelona should be comfortably too strong for Levante. Messi and Mathieu trained today despite picking up injuries in Rome. Pique's still suspended. Levante have never won at the Camp Nou.

For Madrid - Bale, James, Ramos and Danilo are injured but at the Bernabeo they should be far too strong for Granada.

Atletico may line up with Griezmann, Vietto and Jackson again and in principle they should beat Eibar. But Eibar are currently above them in La Liga and with home advantage, it could be more complicated. Stranger things have happened.

Amongst the others - Villareal/Athletic could be the best match of the weekend. And Real Sociedad/Espanyol could be a significant game if Moyes really is having problems with his players. Meanwhile, both Valencia and Sevilla have been struggling to score and could do with home wins.

Just a side note triggered by seeing Luke Shaw get hurt.

Musacchio of Villarreal is now training with his teammates again and may be able to play some time in October. He broke his leg and dislocated his ankle in April and it was a truly awful looking injury.

It looked offside on the first replay shown by BeIN Sport. Don't think you can be too harsh on the linesman there.

Is Benzema obsessed with setting up his team mate in the hope that it's Ronaldo?

He sacrifices too much.
