Had a good start but shows his limitations now. Poor so far and not the right player in our midfield

On a hiding to nothing again being asked to do a job he doesn't have the skill set to do.

I've stated it many, many times. Mourinho wants you to believe that he has been good, but I disagree. For me, a midfield featuring Fellaini will never take us to the top. Too slow and clumsy.

Not sure about that. He has little chance when his partners are Pogba and Rooney. Even so he has been OK IMO.

Dunno why people are slating him for losing aerial battles, especially whoever that moron of a co-commentator is. Sure he has lost a few to Deeney but he also won a fair decent amount. Compared to Smalling and Bailly too.

Physicality is so overrated to the extent that playing Fellaini is somehow justified.

Out of 11 headers (unless some of the 5 clearances he's done were not headers) he's lost 2.

Reaction in this thread is baffling to say the least.

He won 5 aerials in the first half, Smalling and Bailley won 3 together, but yeah it's Fellaini that is the problem.

Fellaini's best work comes with his back to goal. I've always believed this and asking him to play deep makes no sense.

He has been doing ok.... his passing has been actually pretty decent.

People get mad and don't want to blame on their fav players who are playing shit or manager. So they come here to blame this dude. Again and again.

Our midfield options are still weak but Fellaini is doing good for now.

Our best midfielder this season, definitely stays in the team. Although the ball just bounces off him, such a poor player technically

HELLO
Does he have one of the lowest win record percentages of our players in recent times?

Sure feels like it.

Our best player in the second half and the most consistent this season. You can't blame him for the terrible level of Rooney and Pogba.

The beauty of football is how different our opinions are. He was awful today.

All three goals were cut backs. As the holding midfielder surely he should be doing something to prevent them. His only contribution was to give a penalty away.

He won a decent number of headers but it's just not enough.

One of our better players today and certainly our best midfielder.

Of course that's feint praise given the performance generally but even still....

He's been good for us this season but at the same time he's one of the reasons we are shite. If that's understandable.

Thought he was our best player today and Bailly has left him out to dry with that penalty. It was a tired dangled leg which wasn't great but at the end of the day we should have never been in that position.

He ran his ass off today and his passing was quite decent. Nothing wrong with midfield but attack and defence was shocking today.

Was definitely our MOTM until giving away the penalty. But even with that he still wasn't really our worst.

Wanted to give him MOTM but he faded badly from the 80th minute onwards and culminated with that pen. Was good before that though I thought. Has that Busquets like quality of drawing opponents in by seeming on the cusp of a mistake before popping the ball off to a team mate at the last moment.

That yellow he got was just Oliver having no balls and seeing the name "Fellaini" in the back of the shirt..

Our best player today, but he needs a passer next to him. Someone to control the game.

Get him next to Carrick, with Pogba ahead of them.

Carrick Fellaini
Lingard Pogba Rashford
Ibrahimovic

Badly needs to be dropped to fix the team, yes he has played well but playing him and rooney just doesn't suit the team build, it should be 433 with blind, pogba, carrick/snijnerlin/fellaini in a 3

It really isn't just about winning headers. It's his overall play and inability to stay away from giving up fouls that's his problem. He doesn't truly offer Pogba protection and allow Pogba to go forward because he is slow and doesn't have great awareness. He also fails to pass the ball quickly to control the tempo. He is in the team because of his size but that formula after Moyes, LVG and 5 games under Jose has been shown not to work.
