I tell you what I'm no phycologist but this thread provides a real outlook into the positive (optimistic) and negative (pessimistic) views that different people can see. The actual reports an media murmurings have been far more encouraging in the suggestion that Utd sign Pogba than Madrid, yet to many they can't see past the few contrasting peices. Some more critical thinking is probably needed for some but I guess that all gets lost when the muppets flock.
Really is. Those Zidane quotes were IMO very non committal, he just answered with your usual "we are in for the best players the window is open etc etc"

Somehow though people think those words mean they are going to sign him and we are doomed? I don't know if most are just being stupid and playing the fool to get a reaction but it's completely misreading the situation.

The moon gave me flowers for funerals to come.
No they don't, when those lists come out of 'richest clubs' it's more defining a club's worth through assets and commercial viability than the money they have at hand. We have more money to spend than any other club in Europe
If I'm not mistaken they have not bought anyone this season and they have a transfer kitty.
They could afford him if they wanted to but I don't think they are in for him.

Probably because lequipe said a week ago that the deal was done but that didn't turn out to be true as such. People will now only believe: Di Marzio, BBC and or the club itself (in that order).
According to who, di marzio? Nobody really knows anything for certain. They keep saying nothing is done, but thats only because of a lack of official confirmation. Who knows whats really happening behind the scenes.

Personally I find it more annoying seeming people say 'he's Madrid bound' or 'just wants to go to madrid'. It's fine to recognise them as an elite club and even say they have a bigger pull, but it's still ridiculous to think that Pogba wouldn't be interested in an equally elite club in Utd, where we can offer more money right now and a world class manager. I have to say in terms of the deal I was more confident the other day, however, I still think this is pretty much a done deal for us and can't see Madrid getting him this time just because he's a lesser priority.
Madrid have done it to us before, they have done it to countless other clubs, "Madrid always get their man" remember?. There is nothing wrong with people bearing concerned about them, yet some people act like its Everton people are worried about or something.

The fact is this "deal" has been agreed for a week or so, it's not that they won't sell him, it's how it's going to be paid and who get's what cut.

The actual transfer is "agreed". We are whiskers away according to the Italian's who "should know".

That's the one I always wait for. I don't believe it until it's on MUTV and I don't mean the Muppet Paddy Crerand.

I am sure if the deal was done at that time, it would have been announced by now (or atleast reported by other sources).

No that's not why. Nerozzi who is supposed be really reliable when it comes to Italian news wrote it in an article early this morning or last night.

yeah, we have been on and off bringing this Nerozzi story up for about 6 hours now. ;) This hilarious thing is that one of the biggest media developments of the saga (claim the deal is now done and fees sorted) has completely been dwarfed by people shitting themselves because "zidane likes pogba". Truly incredible.:lol:
I can't keep up with hundreds of posts, and I just woke up :)

So what did I miss the last 12 hours? A quick update?
Nothing. You could have been gone a week and still nothing. All parties are negotiating, still no deal yet, talk of Madrid hovering but no actual bid.

Nothing has changed for several days now. Just journalists finding a way to say the same thing with different words.

I don't think Pogba is not drawn to Madrid the way some other players were. For sure they're a bigger draw right now probably because of CL etc, but there's nothing he's said so far to suggest some kind of special love.

It's more of the Spanish media playing it up than anything else. Not saying he won't consider it seriously if the opportunity presents itself, but it's not a foregone conclusion.

To be fair Al Gore would most likely shoot himself for inventing the internet if he were to ever read this thread.
What the Al Gore who said Polar bears can't swim?, even though they are some of the best swimmers in the animal kingdom and swim over 30miles out to sea to find food.

So are the Madrid fans crying out over Pogba? I imagine the are expecting the usual marquee signing this year so they must be.

My theory is that Madrid are using the media to make it seem as though they are trying, but at the same time don't want it to look like they lost out when he eventually joins us.

Not worried in the slightest. We will carry on our merry way without Pogba or the countless others we have supposedly signed over the years. There is something about Madrid that disgusts me and I have no problem with anyone going there as its bow to Cristiano or feck off. That guy rules the club with an iron fist and so he should, my boy Ronaldo, love him. I always laugh at the thought of the club big wigs standing around a fax machine blaming everyone but their arrogant selves, the fecking machine was probably unplugged.

Jesus it's not even Pogba delaying, we've already got a deal with him! it's the clubs arguing about Raiola's compensation.

It's like a massive boom bust cycle in here, akin to the scousers "it's our year!" cycle.
In honesty, we don't know with certainty what the delay(s) are, what has been agreed, and what any of the parties think. This is not the way to do business, it is unsavory - imho, all horse trading should be done in private.

L'Equipe didn't say it was done, they said the deal was very much on which we already knew from the reliable Italian journos.

Well the real involved parties are keeping it quiet, but the people and journalists demand to know what is going on 24/7. That is why we get so much recycled information and lies, nothing can be true all the time.

That's their modus operandi, the swines. If I had my white handkerchief I would be waving it at them.

I'm concerned that we arent being seriously linked to any other player except Pogba

Looks like all of our eggs are in one basket. Hope I'm wrong and we have an excellent plan B though

Have some patience. I think he is as good as ours. I did predict earlier in the thread that Juventus will drag this one out and now it is being dragged out by someone be it Juve, his agent or Pogba himself (I doubt the latter).
I don't think he's going to Real for the following reasons - they don't need to break the world transfer fee for him considering their midfield and also I don't get the impression that F. Perez is convinced he is worth anywhere near the fee. How much of a poaching cnut is F. Perez when he wants a player? I haven't heard him say much about Pogba. Zidane may rate him highly but if Perez isn't sold then I don't think it will happen. The money isn't an issue for Madrid it's the influence of Perez in transfers which is an issue for the managers.

Fwiw I think Pogba must be bought now. If we haven't somehow wrapped up the deal then we haven't only lost a potential balon dor winner but also have made a massive rod for our own backs by inflating the market further and showing every club just how much we are capable of paying.

We're not being linked to another midfielder because we've got Pogba sewn up.

I wish we would just move on from this overpriced cnut and sign one of the other options with the profile Jose wants... Leave Juve hanging after their refusal to pay their contractually obligated 20% to the agent. They are taking the piss.

Would be nice to take one of Kroos or Modric off their greasy hands.
