16 years after winning gold, and 13 years after retiring,Ervin wins gold at 35.
Not to mention that in that time he apparently fought depression before managing to make his comeback. Incredible story.

It's nice to have such feel good stories. Especially come back stories

It's why I love the games.
Oh yeah, and he also auctioned off his gold medal to help people who were affected by the 2004 Tsunami.

It's such a quick race.

Is that the last race of the night?
Not sure, actually, wouldn't be surprised if it is though, would make sense to end on one of the big sprint races.

Is Mr Phelps finished now? For some reason I thought he had 2 races tonight, not just the one.

Jeez, that other British Woman's Heptathlon athlete, the Scouser Katrina whatever Johnson is such a miserable moody cow, the complete opposite compared to the beautiful and always so smiley, chatty and positive Jessica Ennis-Hill.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but for some reason I thought he still had one race left. What happened in the last race? I think it was the 50m, I had to go outside as I thought someone was trying to break in to the pub, or sat outside in the beer garden. Couldn't see anything, but missed the bloody race. Not happy :(

The stadium is bloody empty too. I haven't seen anywhere full at any event at these Olympics yet. Such a real shame. That was a massive flaw with London too. Far too much corporate tickets given out, and the real fans priced out of attending. I've always thought (especially for somewhere as poor as Rio/Brazil, that lots of tickets should be given out to schools/universities and sports clubs etc and they should try and get the stadiums as full as possible at all times.

Just seen one of the worst off-side decisions ever in this Women's Sweden-USA match. Outrageous.
You meant when Schelin scored?

@Ixion did you see when Solo changed gloves then? Haha ridiculous

There was a 50m race but Phelps doesn't race that. It's such a specialist event that isn't really suited to his strengths. The 50m is done in 22 sec. So you blink and you miss it.

I think that was his last individual race. He might have one team event left tomorrow/today in Brazillian time.

The thing about tickets not only happens at the Olympics. Even in the UCL,an outrageous amount of tickets to go sponsors rather than the fans. It's just freed.

This golf course is interesting. I cannot remember a course with crocodiles and poisonous snakes in a tournament. Maybe in Alabama. Also, the vegetation is unique. The course seems to be playing well., although a few of the greens are difficult as the trees around the green are pretty close to the edge.

Woah, going to be a late night if you want to see Mo and Jess Ennis. More Super Sunday than Super Saturday.

Is there no way to watch the Women's hep rather than the mixed athletics feed? I don't care about the first heat of the Mens 100m and wanna watch JEH and KJT.

Can't see it.

You can watch a dedicated feed of Women's Basketball between Australia and Croatia but the only Athletics option I can see is the mixed feed with pre-recorded Hepthatlon segments. Hopefully they'll focus on it when they've finished with the rowing ceremony.

Can't see it.

You can watch a dedicated feed of Women's Basketball between Australia and Croatia but the only Athletics option I can see is the mixed feed with pre-recorded Hepthatlon segments. Hopefully they'll focus on it when they've finished with the rowing ceremony.
Yea looks like it's just part of the general athletics feed, also featuring the mens 100m heats

I would have thought the men's 100m final would be on at a time to maximise TV viewership.

It's on at bloody 02:25 Monday morning :houllier:
