Don't know about that since he has already completed his medical. Mail was reporting yesterday that we want to make some kind of flamboyant announcement in LA for Lukaku. I hope it's similar to what Real Madrid do when they sign a Galactico.
I expect he has, it's just not been announced yet.

Makes you wonder what DM and LW we're really after. Seems like our main target was Lukaku all along, a huge deal and barely any media picked up on it. So they could easily be working on (just for example as a player we've barely been linked to) Bakayoko while Matic, Dier etc have worked as a smokescreen.

1) Why would you assume the value of Rooney to be £25m?
For all we know, he was valued at £10m, but that's not taking into account that United probably will pick up part of his contract in order to facilitate a move to Everton, let's assume that we agree to pay half his £300k/week wages, for the last year of his contract, then that's about £15m in expenses over the next year, meaning that Rooney actually costs United £5m to get rid of.
2) In accounting terms you can't write off future income as something you aren't going to pay, essentially United would actually be better off not taking those £15m into the deal, and agree to pay them in future terms.
Agreeing to write off £15m that Everton owes United, is essentially the same of paying those £15m upfront, just because it isn't cash you have to cough up physically, by accounting terms you'd still have to write them off.
3) It isn't Everton who owe United 25% of the Michael Keane fee, it's Burnley.
Sell-on clauses are contractual agreements between a buying and selling club, therefore Burnley was due to pay United that fee in whatever way it was agreed upon making the deal in the first place.
I mean in terms of sitting down with club officials to actually sign the contract, then doing the kit pictures/promo videos/MUTV interview. That might only happen after the officials and the MUTV media team fly out to the US. So right now he's sort of in limbo and not officially a United player yet.
Of course now I've said that we'll probably announce him in a couple of minutes
I imagine he's signed the contract already. It would be absurdly risky given there'd be an outside chance of being gazumped until he's signed, to hold off the contract signing for until the photographer's flight lands.

I can't remeber many past deals that had add ons, it seems to be a very new thing. Either that or they weren't reported on the players valuation.
If any of those add ons are PL win or Champs League win then they're well worth it to secure a signing.

ESPN is a major US Network. If they're taking an interest why wouldn't we let them get the exclusive and therefore greater exposure/coverage in the lucrative US market. Makes more sense than insisting it's all on MUTV.

When Utd bought Ferdinand it included add-ons. Unusually the two clubs then agreed to settle the add-ons as a capital payment. For illustration purposes only, Utd may have been liable to pay up to £10m over the course of the contract, but payed £5m to Leeds to settle this liability. Clearly Leeds required the money at the time.
Ferdinand ended up costing £29.1m, whereas he could have cost in the region of £33m if all the add-ons had been paid - this is from memory (16 odd years ago), so may not be 100% accurate.

In terms of revenue and fans worldwide, we are. We might not be the best, far from it, but we are still, along with Madrid, the biggest name in football imo.
How it's misplaced loyalty, or how it's our biggest problem? I'm going to assume it's the former, and it's misplaced because your employer going around breaking the rules is hardly behaviour which should be encouraged, or do you think otherwise? The thought that he owes the club something because they blatantly disregarded rules regarding transfers (no less) and recruitment on numerous occasions is ridiculous.
The fact that he decided to reward a bunch of crooks for breaking the rules and getting caught is completely misguided loyalty, and the fact that he chose that over joining us (which I can only assume was more or less a done deal) is enough to make me hope we don't go back in for him. The main reason is, as I stated, that we can't afford to go a year without a high quality player like him, so we should aim to fill the place we reserved for him with someone else, if at all possible.
