I actually don't think he was that bad by his own recent standards but that in itself is still the problem. He was able to control the ball well and pass the ball okay which for him is pretty good but at this level it's generally expected from every player anyway and the fact that for him it counts as a decent day just proves the point that he's well past performing at this level. The chance he had first half really was a huge moment and he made a right mess of it when he literally had a simple square ball to play. Add in the couple of decent chances he had second half which he couldn't even hit the target with too. Hopefully these last few games will finally be a goodbye to him. He's been a very good player for us but his decline has been hideous.

Wayne Rooney has been one of United's best players in the Premier League while also being one of the worst.

Begging the ref to blow the whistle.

I'm begging the club to blow the whistle on his career.

Was done sometime ago, it's just a sad how rapidly he declined. He can't do anything right, even the simplest things an average footballer is expected to make.

Idling around the pitch like he’s carrying two huge bags of shopping from a Marbella supermercado in a pair of flip-flops. His feet simply two vestigial lumps of gristle hanging from the end of his shins. The greatest footballer these shores have produced in a generation, reduced to a lumbering oaf wandering around the Old Trafford turf, like a tired dad looking for his car keys.

Is there a rating lower than 1 in match day thread ?

Ratings in (-) should be allowed as long as we have players like him playing in a United shirt.

Oh god he's doing that thing where he shies away from the pressure zones and finds himself 10 yards from every player hovering around the half way line. He then proceeds to "press" which consists of dipping his head a bit and putting his arms out wide while he's still 10 yards from the player.
I thought I was the only one that notices his phantom presses!!

Utter, utter dogshit.

He's embarrassing himself out there each time he plays.

Please God let this be the end of Rooney at Utd.

He's 31 years old but watching him playing makes you feel he's about 40.

Finished at this level of football. Will embarrass himself more if he goes to Everton.

Time for MLS.

Not as bad as people claim. But still not good enough, definitely wouldn't mind if he left the club.

Both him and Carrrick need to move on this summer. Everything must come to an end.

It is kinda sad seeing how badly Rooney has declined.

He was the next big thing now he is a punchline for a joke.

Absolute farce of a perfomance. Everything he does and touches goes to shit.

Even McTominay's shot looked like it was going in before hitting Rooney. Nothing is working for him at this level anymore. It is sad to see how shit things have become.

Just another evidence for Mou & Ed to let go of nostalgia and splash the cash for someone fresh and competent.

I think this is about as good as it gets from Wayne these days, other than getting the odd tap-in or penalty to go with it. He really should retire or his next couple of years wherever they are could be sad to see.

Well he started off really early and gave his all to help his teammates. So it's not a surprise that he has declined 'quality wise' a bit earlier than other players.

Dire. There's no lack of effort or anything, he always gives 110% as he always had done, he's just well past it. Hopefully he has a better second half as he should absolutely have a goal (assist) or two to his name right now.
110 percent of 40 is still 44

75 percent of 90 is still 67

His top level are gone even if he gives 200 percent it's still dire

Just put your foot through the ball Wayne!

He has two types of shots in his locker. The curled effort into the top left corner(one for the cameras) or the dreaded chip. That's it.

This is just the worst excuse his fans wheel out constantly to excuse his terrible lifestyle and not looking after himself like other players.

No if he took care of his body more he wouldn't have declined as that. Ronaldo started early and still performing at the highest level possible and how giving help to another play makes him decline more in such a way ?

The guy can't even dribble.
