Yeah they're not getting my vote.
Nobody wants to see Tories come to power. But it's physically puke inducing to put a tick anywhere near a Labour candidate. My long time footy friend Sadiq Khan is going up for mayoral election again in May. Always voted for him obviously, and for Labour in the generals. The five voting members of my family are going Green this time. They are anti genocide. It's all that matters to us at this historic moment. Even if it's just lip service, and it likely is.
I'm actually making an exception for Khan. Sick of the racist drivel being directed at him (like Abbott he's a seemingly acceptable outlet for the racist right to direct their bigoted drivel at), and I think he's done a decent job as mayor, undoing a lot of the shite Boris had encumbered us with. I also enjoy the bigots foaming at the mouth at the mere mention of him. And unlike his spineless peers at the PLP, he wasn't as apologetic towards Israel's genocidal adventure and IIRC he called for a ceasefire early on when Starmer was high fiving the Israelis for cutting off water, medicine and energy.
The parliamentary labour party can do one though. Definitely opting for the greens on the GE front, and many of my friends and family are doing so too. A bit torn as to what to do at local elections though as I feel like the Labour councillors are decent folk with a bit of integrity.

Fortunately in my constituency it’s between the tories and Lib Dem’s, so easy choice.
I would still vote Labour in a heartbeat to get rid of the tories right now, but fecking hell they seem to be making hard work of it, trying to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory.

No one is expecting him to name the exact date but Hunt mentioned it was likely to be in October, he could have said around that time. They need to bring back Fixed Term Parliaments Act.
Labour have a decent chance in my constituency, but the SNP MP - for all the faults that the SNP have nowadays - is a great MP and will probably hold his seat anyway.
Seriously. How difficult is to not be the Tories? It's like Starmer has been given the answers to a two option multiple choice quiz and yet the cnut is still fecking up. But the reality is that they probably were cnuts anyway, and because everything has shifted to the right so much in our society they think they can get away with it. At least in the past Labour pretended like they gave a shit about people.

It's mad that anyone could take a person who lasted just 49 days as leader of their country, because they tanked its economy with all their policies, seriously. Like what possible insight could they have?

You could well be correct, it's amazing how many people who consider themselves true socialists are prepared to 'cut off their noses' to spite Starmer's face. Wonder what they will tell their children if they do managed to rob Labour of the large majority they are going to need (over 3 terms) to move the dial significantly?
Even a large majority for Labour in this next election will not make the difference it will take to improve the lot of working people... not in one term; the Tories have had 14 years, Labours going to need 3 terms (15 years) at least, not to just claw back, but to move the dial significantly.
I am in my late 70's and only once in my life time has a Labour government been in a position to improve the lot of working people to the next level and I was born in that era (i.e post WW2, NHS Act and Education Act) that Labour government change my life prospects no end, and for millions like me. It's true the Blair Government had a stab at it but too much in-fighting at the top stopped them really moving the dial. So, to anybody who is thinking of ditching, Labour because Starmer has the temerity to call for 'silence in the ranks' and to 'brook no nonsense' in marshalling his troops to win their most important election since the 1940/50's.
Then I say shame on you and warn that you will regret it the rest of your lives.

Labour should have to work for votes. They can't just assume the left will turn up because they aren't as bad as the Tories.
For all his and their faults, Blair and New Labour did largely get a lot of the traditional more argumentative lefties behind them with a focus on schools and early years education.
Starmer needs to find his "education, education, education" message.

Sure, then Tory can change its name as Socialist party of GB while behaving like always and then the socialist should vote them. Just because the Labour is called Labour doesn't entitle them to have the labour and left votes if their policies are Tory lite. If Labour is not left anymore, why the left should vote them?
