Amazing the change of tune on RAWK over the past week.

It's gone from the match on Sunday being a guaranteed Liverpool win with Liverpool being leaps and bounds ahead of us in quality etc etc...

To now many of them willing to take a draw if offered right now.

Maybe this year....isn't their year

Got a horrible feeling they'll nick it on Sunday. We can't keep winning and they can't keep playing so badly.

Yeah I always have a bad feeling ahead of these games.

But let's be honest though:

- Our GK is better
- Our defence is better
- Our midfield is better
- The attacks are about on par IMO, names and actual quality we edge it, but cohesion and output they edge it

We are a better side, plain and simple. The table might not show it but remember we have a new manager, were damaged goods and had a freak run of results. IMO the last two months are more representative of the respective teams strengths, and I can't stop the feeling that they've already peaked with their current squad, while we are still to get there.

Barring tactical feckups by our manager we edge it, simply because we'll put forth a better 11 than they will do. But as we all know form and the relatively small gaps in quality all goes out the window in matches like these, and I wouldn't put a bet on either of us.

Known Liverpool bias or not, he should have a problem keeping a straight face putting forward that 11.

He's trying too hard here eh? He'll obviously discount every United centre back because they haven't played as much, same with the left back. So in that sense, if he's going off the full season so far (rather than the best players) you can kinda just about understand his bizarre defence picks.

But then he goes and leaves out Pogba, and just makes a complete dick of himself.

.............De Gea
Valencia.Bailly.Rojo.Milner
.............Carrick
Herrera............Pogba
Lallana...Zlatan...Mkhi

Is the correct version of that lineup. Mkhi can be discussed and probably on performances alone should be swapped for Coutinho. Then again, I can't be entirely objective since Sourness obviously didn't make the effort to be.

Well this is just

Tbf based on performances this season it is at least for me:
..................... De Gea
Valencia - Jones - Matip - Milner
..................... Carrick
............. Lallana - - Pogba
Mane - - - - - Ibrahimovic - - - Coutinho

But based on quality it is:
..................... De Gea
Valencia - Jones - Bailly - Shaw
..................... Carrick
............. Herrera - - Pogba
Micki - - - - - Ibrahimovic - - - Martial

I would concur. Maybe Coutinho in for Micky T in the quality team.

Picking Herrera over Lallana is just as big a joke as Souness' line-up tbh.

I picked him as LW since I agree, Lallana should be in there. If that is on the expense of Herrera then so be it.

Wasn't entirely sure which position he plays for Liverpool, thought he was an attacker and not midfielder.

What would be your totally unbiased 11?

I wouldn't call picking the player who bossed Liverpool's midfield over an attacking mid in central midfield more ridiculous than not including one of the best center mids in the league or a single member of the more effective defense this season. I agree that Lallana should be in there somewhere nowhere near as agreggious as you make it out to be

I think recent displays from Lallana are much more a form thing than Lallana showing his true quality. He is really good this season no doubt about that, better then Herrera and Herrera is quite good this season but based on quality in my opinion Herrera is much better for me. But tbf they are different players so it is hard to compare, Lallana better offensively and Herrera better defensively.

De Gea
Valencia Matip Bailly Milner
Henderson
Lallana------Pogba
Mane Ibrahimovic Coutinho
De Gea doesn't need any explanation. Valencia/Clyne and Henderson/Carrick are tough ones imo, you could make arguments for both but I went with Valencia since United's defense is a lot better than ours, and with Henderson because he's a lot more mobile than Carrick. I think Matip is better than Jones and Rojo, and was impressed with Bailly before he got injured (also seen quite a bit from him at Villareal). Milner at LB is an obvious choice although I think Shaw has that spot locked up for the next ten years if he ever regains his match fitness and pre-injury form.

Pogba and Lallana are no-brainers in midfield for me, both have been amongst the best in the league at their positions. Ibra is obvious, so is Coutinho imo although I can't fault a United fan for picking Martial. Last very difficult choice is Mane or Mkhitaryan, again you could make a case for either one. Mane edges it by far based on this season alone but if you look at Mkhitaryan's performances at Dortmund, he should be in there if he can get to that level in the Premier League as well.
I wonder how long it'll take before marukomu comes in to say we need to cut out the discussions in here.
