Horrible pitch making it hard to get the ball under control, two teams playing long ball. This is the sort of football Fellaini thrives in, played well.
Exactly that!Perfect conditions for Fellaini.
He played well

He played well, but it's one of my biggest complaints of him. I've noticed that with a few crosses into the box, he stands still and doesn't jump - wanting to bring it down with that lovely chest of his... Unfortunately he gets beaten to it more often than not.He had a piece of skill in the second half (didnt note the time) when he flicked it over a man in the middle and then passed it out. It was really good.
The assist to the assist was really good too. It seems like he can use his chest better than his head which is strange.
Can we replace him with Cattermole? He does all that and he's EnglishThat was quite good, wan't it.
I was watching this stream with a tiny window and I was finding it hard to differentiate our players but Fellani was the only player I could make out because of the afro and he seemed to be covering everything. When the ball was ahead he was present there to assist, when the ball was in midfield he was there to provide his strength and break things down and he was also present assisting the backline defending the crosses and high balls.
When things get tough, and the play becomes scrappy, he really thrives. He was given the best role he can play as player, a sort of roaming forward midfielder and it proved effective once again.
He also showed some good touches and ball control. I think the way we played yesterday should be our Plan B while using Fellaini. Usually, we just try to hoof the ball to him. But yesterday, he played a sort of aerial game and quick ball movement while deploying him to control the aerial shots and provide quick layoffs. He is not completly ineffective with the ball at his feet, only he cannot keep moving it over long distances like Pogba. He can control the ball effectevly over short distances. So, when you combine that with his height and chest control, you give the opposition something else to think about. Just punting the ball to him and expecting him to score does not help us get the best out of him because he is not that good at heading the ball into the goal.
I think we got the picture.Hopdfully it will convince the Chinese that he's not that shit for the Chinese league
Chest is where heart is, head is where the brain is. Self-explanatory really, when it comes to Fellaini. He had a piece of skill in the second half (didnt note the time) when he flicked it over a man in the middle and then passed it out. It was really good.

Great analogyChest is where heart is, head is where the brain is. Self-explanatory really, when it comes to Fellaini.
Who in our current squad talks shit to the press and doesn't give 100% in your opinion? You couldn't ask for a better squad player.
He accepts that he isn't an automatic starter, doesn't go talking shit to the press and unlike some of the Cafe darlings, he always gives 100% as well.
Luke Shaw and Martial.Who in our current squad talks shit to the press and doesn't give 100% in your opinion?
He's gonna say Martial, isn't he?Who in our current squad talks shit to the press and doesn't give 100% in your opinion?
Yes.He's gonna say Martial, isn't he?
Actually we do. We should have a specialised DM playing in the DM role rather then a decent no 10 whose playing out of position because we don't play the hoof the ball game. You couldn't ask for a better squad player.

Shaw and Martial talk shit to the press, any examples?Luke Shaw and Martial.
No one says otherwise. The problem is his 100% is still crap. You couldn't ask for a better squad player.

I don't get comments like this. A player of his experience in the PL, only behind Rooney and Carrick, should accept that he is not an automatic starter? That's a good thing now? Unless you're a young player, you should be keeping first choice players on their toes. The state of our fanbase expectations. You couldn't ask for a better squad player.
