waiting for the next twist in the tale

Find it strange that a player who was let go by Jose and not trusted at that point to be a starter would want to make the biggest move of his career back under the same manager. Perhaps water under the bridge but strange...

Think this is the first proper signing since RVP

(if it happens)

What makes this even better is, Pogba and Lukaku are very close friends. They holiday together etc.

They will have an understanding and know how to get the best out of one another. So not only 30+ goals but a lot of assists for Pogboooooom too

Some guys asking what's the difference between Fellaini and Lukaku? Bloody hell :houllier:

What's the big difference? Both boring, no creativity. Plus Fellaini is a nice guy, can't stand Lukaku and his attitude thinking he's better than he is.

I'm sorry man, really disappointed.
Obviously you aren't serious, but Lukaku scored a lot of goals last season. I'm seriously not than keen on him either, but we need a striker and looks like we're signing one so I'm pretty happy.

He's not worth the money but we needed a striker and the market is thin at the moment. I guess at least he won't need to adjust to the PL like Morata would. I don't think he'll ever be good enough to take United to the heights we ultimately aspire to but we're nowhere near there right now. It is a bit disappointing we couldn't find anyone better given our scouting network, though.
Lukaku is an excellent option for us given the current market for the Premiership tho. I'd prefer someone more rounded (like Morata) but that doesn't mean he's average. Far from it - he'd guarantee us goals and is more clinical than Morata for example.

With that being said we need a proper creative force on the wings so hopefully we'll sign a quality winger/wide forward to give him the service.

Only Jim White is saying that and he said it on TalkSport

Jim White who said we were signing that Roma defender a few years back
jim white is very friendly with farhad moshiri though, aswell. Everton's majority owner.

Bummer, we all know what that feels like. Seems ok now though.
Quite a smart system actually, it had a pop up saying that pre-existing members can login but they kicked out to nosey outsiders to prioritise bandwidth. Have never seen that before on a forum

Guys this stuff is crazy.

@Judas you really see no difference between Lukaku and Fellaini?

I once saw a near retired Dennis Irwin boss Ronaldo. These things can happen in isolation.
My point at least, is not saying we should use Fellaini up top, but what is the difference with him being up top or Lukaku. Both of them are lump it to them guys. It's a limited style of play, one dimensional, and boring (for me personally). I want us to have players with better technique, not only for entertainment, but also because in Europe you really need players like that.

Should be a good signing. Strong, good hold up play and a out and out striker. None of this dropping deep crap! That said i hope the £75m is including addons.

We still need another striker. Hope the news of us ending our interest in Morata is a front

Would be a great signing for you - although does this mean the Morata deal has hit the skids?

BBC never says anything unless it's over, though. Calm down and stop hearing nothing journalists.

Think I'm hoping this one goes through.

Not the most exciting signing but a very 'proven' one. And it would be nice to have an established forward who isn't towards the end of their career, for a change.

He better step up in games that actually matter. Yes he scores against the lesser lights, but we now don't have Ibra to score in the big games. Morata would be perfect for that. We just have to hope he can perform for a big club, because he hasn't shown it yet. When Chelsea tried to give him a chance he failed.

They never say anything unless they are told. All they've been told is the fee is agreed. Not that the deal is complete.

It's difficult not to feel excited about this transfer.

Money? It's football these days and we're just like any other football team, so I stopped to think about the fee.

It's amazing that he's only 24 and seems to have been around for many many years. Great transfer for us.

Would've preferred Morata tbh, but lets see what Lukaku can do for us!

Worried Chelsea might go and buy Morata now as a bit of a 'feck you' to us. Then knowing our luck he'll go on to be golden boot for the league!

Regardless of if he signs or not. People saying he's a lump either haven't watched him play or understand football.

Agreed. Finally someone will put away all those chances Pogba puts on a plate for them. It was getting tiresome seeing the likes of Miki, Ibra and Rashford wasting chance after chance after being set up by Pogba last season. There is a video around which shows he could have had around 25 assists, just insane.

If they aren't sure they won't risk their reputation. The sources that tell them are also stronger than any other sources as proven before.

Lukaku plays up front and scores 20 goal a season, Fellaini plays in midfield and his biggest attribute is fouling people
