Where did I say he wasn't creative?? My first line was because of his abilities and what he brings to the game, not his blogs.

I just feel having 2 fast wingers and Miki/Pogba/Matic more central with Lukaku ahead, would be better. If Miki is having a bit of a mare, playing Mata in that role would be great and would show even more of his creativity. Having Tony V as the focal point of our right wing means we lack killer instinct down that side, if opposition defences had to deal with Martial & Rashford on either side, I really think we'd be ever stronger than what we have been recently..
Wouldn't have changed much the way Leicester were set up. They defended compact with lot of bodies behind the ball. Our wingers be it Martial or Rashford cut inside drawing bodies inside leaving spaces in the flanks for fullbacks to exploit. Unfortunately our fullbacks didn't take advantage of that.

In such circumstances Mata importance becomes even more apparent, he's creative and can play through the middle and we need his creativity there especially with how organised and compact Leicester were.

Thought he did very well, unlucky to not get an assist. Leicester were under clear instructions to double up on him. At times there were four players within a 5 yard radius of him.
Yea agree with this. They were on to him more quickly than anyone else. My only criticism was that he could've tried more to run in behind than receive the ball with his feet and start a run. Otherwise he had a good game and is clearly getting his confidence back.

I think this is THE criticism of Martial. You're right though, if he managed to add this to the game he'd be looking world class.

Martial moved around well and overall had a good game. A couple of technical errors were there, but everybody has those. He was lively, moved around the pitch and had several nice take-ons while also moving inside Leicester's box quite often. I love Rashford, but Martial simply offers us a more diverse offensive game and should continue to start.

I was in the toilet when both were on the pitch at the same time and even missed the goal.
How did we set up when we brought Rashford on?

All our forward players lost the ball at times today attempting passes, all creative players take risks and will lose the ball occasionally thats football. Martial played well today and was dangerous and creative all game, thats why he was the last to be subbed.

You need to improve your comprehension and grammaskills, it seems you don't know that the same object can be used in two sentences that mean different things. You said all Martial assists are cutbacks. I then pointed to the most basic form of evidence to disprove that claim: highlights. I implied that full matches are the way you should learn about Martial even though disproving your claim could be done with highlights, showing how basic and nonsensical a notion it was. In short, highlights will not help you to form analysis on a player, but they can be used to disprove basic bs like I did. I hope that's not too hard to understand. Admit your claim on Martial was wrong instead of hurling childish insults like a teen backed into a corner, its really embarrassing.

Do you not understand what the sentence, "one of our most talented players" mean? Christ, your comprehension is really terrible. It looks like I'm wasting my time, if you couldn't get that there's no hope in you getting the rest of what I said above or in my previous posts. It all makes sense now, there's no point in a conversation with you, it would be like talking to a toddler. No thanks, I'm done with you.
a). Mata is former Chelsea player of the year - he stood out in a squad that won accolades all because of his vision and passing

b). Mkhi was Bundesliga player of the season not so long ago. All because of his vision and his passing
Now..

My statement- Martial isn't on the same level as Mata and Mkhi when it comes to vision and passing.

Your counter argument to me - That's laughable and based off of highlights. Here watch a highlight video to see how I am so right (Absolute gem by the way). Martial is on the same level IF NOT HIGHER. You know nothing. How do I know it? I just do.

I think you should stop watching football. I won't be surprised if you have never watched it altogether and came on here to type any random thing you wanted. You sound like one of those celebrities that say stupidest of things to get noticed. Congrats, the random strangers on the internet, including me, noticed you. Goodbye to you too, sir. :)

Don't get me wrong I love Mata but surely having:

Lukaku
Martial Miki Rashford

Would be a great starting lineup? So strange how many managers insist on putting Mata out on the right...
We'll see this at some point when Mourinho thinks there will be space to attack on the counter but we can survive with 2 in midfield. When we play Arsenal at home I could see us starting like this, for instance.

Anyone remember the massive meltdown happened here when he didn't play against Madrid ? Some were saying he should go on loan till Jose's sacked.

Oh they'll all be back once he's on the bench as will happen as its a squad game. Lots of United fans wanting to save his career by getting him to move on. Drama galore.

Didn't think he was as good as some in here seem to think and I'm a massive fan of his. Maybe it was tactical instructions but he seemed to be clogging what little space there was centrally and coming too deep to get on the ball.

Plenty of times today in slow build up Blind was positioned in front of him and much wider whilst Martial was in and around Pogba and Mkhis space.

I'll have to watch the highlights again and see if I was maybe over thinking it but I know at the time I was getting frustrated with it.
I think it was tactical, dribbling through the center and creating havoc. He came central few times but stayed most of the time between wide and central position. Later in the game Jose was shouting to go wide and stretch the game (I think this was when Rashford was on). If our fullbacks did a proper job we would have scored few more, shame both couldn't cross the ball.

It was so cringeworthy and embarrassing, his thread was the worst I've seen on the Caf after that game. One poster I spoke to said he should move permanently to fulfil his potential, I pointed out that it's the first game of a very long season, there wasn't any reasonable debate, Martial had to go and that was that

If we had someone like Evra in his prime who could beat a man or draw another defender to him, Martial would be unstoppable. His problems come mainly when he's crowded off the ball but I don't think we have anyone who can score more efficiently when he's got just a single defender and keeper to beat.

Are you trying to find out how good you are in mixing up points to blur the argument? You're not good at it, in case you take that question as anything other than rhetorical.

Let's see, you came up with the ridiculously laughable claim that Martial, Rasford and Lukaku are all pace with little technical skill and vision. I rightly call you out for it and instead of admitting your wrong, you change and say your point was Mata and Mkhi being better in vision and passing. Those two points aren't the same, you know that and haven't mentioned the first one ever since. On the second point, I said Martial has same vision and passing and arguably better since he controls and passes the ball while playing at a higher speed. You came back with another ridiculous claim that all Martial assists are cutbacks. I then properly pointed out that that was such a nonsense point that even one highlights video a couple of posts back would disprove it. It looks like you're still struggling to understand that point. The fact that a highlights video, bad as they are for proper analysis, was all that was needed to disprove you point shows how baseless it was. I really hope you've got it this time.

Sure Mata and Mkhi have achieved more accolades than Martial overall in the game, but it doesn't mean an up and coming player can't have the same vision and skill as them. I prefer to analyze players by watching and coming up with opinions about their qualities, rather than using stats and accolades.

All this while most of your posts are filled with childish insults in apparent failed attempts at attention seeking and somehow winning a losing argument. It's pathetic and tiresome, you will be going on ignore if you keep it up. I am not going to have a circular argument of constantly establishing points that have already been made while sifting through your petulance. If you can't stick to the points you have already made and can't stop dreaming up points I never made, and you're not able to have a discussion without sounding like a 13 year old, I will have nothing else to say to you.

Yes of course you do. When fanboys like you are asked to add substance to your observations, you lot claim you watch actual matches and others just see stats and accolades. How dare they!?
No stats, no data, nothing to back your point up except a highlight video that doesn't even compare the players in questions but you watch matches and I don't!! You got me, bud. You got me so good.

Apart from that one good cross, I don't see anything noteworthy that he's done.
Same. Going through the posts on the page after the game, I was quite surprised people were hyping up quite an average performance.

It's better than backing up your points with non factual information isn't it? Mkhitaryan was never Bundesliga player of the year.

Is Martial 1v1 finishing a bit predictable ? Feels like sooner or later all keepers could figure it out.

It might be predictable but it's hard to stop. If you can strike the ball hard and low into the bottom corner, there's nothing much a keeper can do.

Yeah if it's unstoppable it doesn't matter how predictable it is. Shearer's finishing was predictable too and he managed ok!

You are the stats guy insisting on comparing the stats of a young Martial to those of an experienced Mkhitaryan and Mata, including non factual ones . Like I said, you're going on ignore bud, you can't argue without sounding like a pissed off adolescent.

No such thing as predictable finishing. If the ball find the net on a consistent basis, means you're doing it right. No need to change a winning concept.

They didn't figure out Henry - plus if they start to favour that corner it will leave more space front post and any top finisher will capitalise.

Martial's finishing is unquestionably top class, the only thing missing is a powerful shot from range, but his dribbling puts him into the box very often so he doesnt need it. Martial's best attributes are his close control/dribbling and finishing.

Good finishers often look predictable because they have a trick up their sleeve that sends most goalkeepers the wrong way, it can be a body swerve or a feint but all top finishers have it. Observe Lukaku in a 1on1 and he does a shimmy with his feet which forces the goalkeeper to guess.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
I think this is THE criticism of Martial. You're right though, if he managed to add this to the game he'd be looking world class.
The question though is if that's his actual task on the pitch. Remember he is a wide player not a striker. Another point is that we rarely ever play teams where running in behind is an option. Most teams who face us are sitting deep trying to park the bus and in this case someone with the close control and dribbling ability of Martial is golden. Those are the players who cause havoc to a deep standing defensive line. Another point is that the wide man in José's system are all required to defend and Martial doesn't have the status of a CR7 who can slack off in that department and is still playing every game.

I think he definetly has the pace to make good runs it's more a question if that is his actual task on the pitch or not.

I really don't get it. Looking at his physique, long range shots shouldn't be a problem.

He does have a powerful shot on him. I remember him smashing the post last season in some game. He just doesn't get into good enough areas to have a go. This is something he'll improve on as he gets older.

Ah yes. I had read his wiki page when he was about to join United and even today it said he won player of the year in Bundesliga. Well anyway, the point still remains, he was leading the charts in terns of assists and chance creation and matched by a phenomenal KDB. Hence, is still is vastly more superior to Martial in terms of vision and passing.

And how is the other guy's argument better? It was not like Mkhi was crap and I made out him to be player of the season despite that. The other guy is simply saying he watches games so he knows what he is saying is facts. He states that Martial is on the same level if not better. So yeah, do tell how is it better? Or do you find it better because you too, like the person I am conversing with, see little interesting about football beyond Martial?

Calm down, using wrong information which misleads people isn't better than not using any. Mkhitaryan won some kicker player of the year, just like Martial who won facebook FA PL young player of the year 2015-16.

Alright. If your argument is solely focused on whether I used wrong info, yes you are correct. I was misinformed about this.

Takes nothing away from my sentiment behind the original argument. Mkhi is recognized for his vision and ability to provide assists. The award doesn't say anything that the stats already don't. So I didn't mean to mislead anyone when I said Mkhi is vastly superior in this department. Every guy and his dog knows that.

He has the power as most footballers do but his technique is terrible. He basically knows how to curl it and that's it.
