Exactly. How is there any discussion about that? Newcastle's goal shouldn't have stood, though. What are you all smoking? It was a clear penalty

Souness thinks it's a penalty too, so there you have it. You're wrong. What are you all smoking? It was a clear penalty
That might be true, I’ve just always thought if you play the ball before the man it’s okay. If they’re the laws then you’ll definitely be right because if Alonso had stayed up he’d still be in possession.Look up the laws of the game. Might be you're right but i've heard it explained several times by pundits and even a former ref and the rule says you have to win the ball aka take away from the attacker's availability. If you don't and you take him out it's a foul.
He does actually move the ball away from Alonso.Look up the laws of the game. Na you're doing this wrong. You need to have a strong decision one way or the other on the penalty. Then laugh at anyone with the opposite opinion.Just seen all the decisions back.
1) penalty could have been either way. Definite contact and movement on the ball but he does take the man with his other leg in a scissor motion.
2) Giroud gets elbowed right in the face. Should have been a foul but not deliberate.
All in all Chelsea deserved the points.
Not really, Alonso quite literally fell on the ball. If he stays up the ball is still very much in his possession. He does actually move the ball away from Alonso.
Watching the Alonso one the ball does move away from him with the touch. He then falls on it and it moves massively. Not really, Alonso quite literally fell on the ball. If he stays up the ball is still very much in his possession.
Also, not that sure Yedlin's was a foul either. He's protecting himself. Dunno...
Huddersfield and Cardiff are worseNewcastle and West Ham will be relegated
As a classy and charitable club, I'm sure we'll do our bit to help them stay upI don't know how Newcastle can survive this season. They do look very weak in every part of the field. Rafa has to pull out a miracle.
I hope they will be.3 out of 3, can't fault that. Chelsea is proving to be a hardest City opponent for the league.
The ball doesn't move away enough, it's still very much in his availability. Basically if defender doesn't take out Alonso, he'd have been able to keep playing the ball. Touch on the ball doesn't take him out of the playWatching the Alonso one the ball does move away from him with the touch. He then falls on it and it moves massively.
I know, but if Yedlin doesn't stick out his elbow, he gets headbutted on the chin. He's protecting himself, so...i dunnoYedlin hits Giroud right in the jaw. No real malice but got to be a free kick.
How would that be a headbutt on the chin? Giroud was nowhere near his face. Seriously, watch it again.I know, but if Yedlin doesn't stick out his elbow, he gets headbutted on the chin. He's protecting himself, so...i dunno
Video? How would that be a headbutt on the chin? Giroud was nowhere near his face. Seriously, watch it again.
Tbf, it's a bit hard to play Sarri's style of high pressing, quick passing between the lines etc. when an opponent is literally camped in their half with zero attacking ambition. You can't press and hunt players who don't have the ball.Btw, didn't pay too much attention to the game but heard Di Canio in the post match and he ripped Chelsea and especially Hazard to shreds. Far cry from Sarri ball yet, according to him, and Hazard was clogging things up and slowing things down and generally making it harder for them, was the gist of it
Top post on page 41, Around 0:43. When you see the shot from behind Yedlin you can see the angle clearly.Video?
Honestly they will get destroyed. Fighting for a point today would have been a good confidence booster. We'll see.
Somehow I think the sequence of events would have been affected and who knows, Rondon would have scored a hat trickIndeed. It would've ruled out their goal and we'd have won 2-0.
Bizarre. Hazard won MOTM and was hacked most times he was on the ball by an ultra defensive Newcastle.Btw, didn't pay too much attention to the game but heard Di Canio in the post match and he ripped Chelsea and especially Hazard to shreds. One year on, one year off. That's what we do.Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea did what they did two years ago.
We had the beast that was Diego Costa up top 2 years ago winning us matches. We ain't pipping City or Liverpool to the title with Morata up front sadly.Wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea did what they did two years ago.
You never know, stranger things have happenedWe had the beast that was Diego Costa up top 2 years ago winning us matches. We ain't pipping City or Liverpool to the title with Morata up front sadly.
I agree, & think they are step below the rest. Newcastle are among quite a few who could join them, & would be no lose with their negative attitude.Huddersfield and Cardiff are worse
You all said the same two years ago. The line then was about having Moses and Alonso as full backs. We had the beast that was Diego Costa up top 2 years ago winning us matches. We ain't pipping City or Liverpool to the title with Morata up front sadly.
Agreed. Rafa has been handed no money, he has limited players .. ffs Joselu is their only goalscorer this season. People really expect them to play good football? The Wolves comparisons are false too, yes they've just been promoted but they've had far more investment/much better connections than Newcastle. Rafa is doing his best with a limited side, he was mid table last season which for the players he has available is good, if they attempted to be something they're not they would be relegated.I'm not sure there's any point in Newcastle trying to play progressive football with that squad. If they'd got a point today there would be none of this noise about negative football.
Yeh. That elbow moved up so high in not natural position. A definite foul there. How would that be a headbutt on the chin? Giroud was nowhere near his face. Seriously, watch it again.
Difference now is that City & Liverpool have settled managers who have been here years and have each invested massively since Conte's first season. The competition is much tougher now than it was even 2 years ago.I'm not sure there's any point in Newcastle trying to play progressive football with that squad. If they'd got a point today there would be none of this noise about negative football.

You meant Liverpool.3 out of 3, can't fault that. Chelsea is proving to be a hardest City opponent for the league.
you need to check your sarcasm detectorIt is actually quite insightful that the first thing United fans think about when City drop points is Liverpool winning the league. Must be tough for youse.
5 years la!I know that is the popular consensus. But that is not actually true I have been on that forum for the last 5 years.
