For an attacker playing fullback he's offering nothing going forward. Dalot can't be much worse despite being inexperienced.

I so much can't wait for us to replace this guy. He is so poor a footballer talk more a captain in this team. Doesn't seem to make the right decision everytime, he'd just hoof it up top for Lukaku and hope for the best, we all know how that ends. rinse repeat.

I'll always say it, we can't build anything from the back with this guy in our defense. Our gameplay suffers because of his rubbish, and because of that he hands opposition the ball and puts us under pressure all game long.

Pools best attacker. Shocking start to the first and second half, gave the ball away without any pressure........once again.

Defensively he was fine but his passing composure was awful at times. He needs to stop forcing the ball down the line at every opportunity when we need to retain some possession.

Can't believe I'd dread the sight of a united player starting as much as Rooney(of his last 4 seasons) this early. The sooner we get rid of players who give us this feelings forever and ever, the better we'll be. Even if it means becoming arsenal or worse and finish mid table once or twice.

He had a decent game after being so horrible early on. But even if he gives his professional best, it's no where near acceptable as a modern full back playing for a top side. This Valencia young RB lb thing eventually needs to stop. It hurts us as much as joses ego or Rooney's lack of self awareness and the other clueless coaches who didn't object to that. These are things we have to spot and correct or its it's pointless how much we spend or who manages us.

He was solid last season and earlier in the season but, he really seems that he has a mistake in him or on the edge of getting sent off. Problem I think is Dalot is just not good enough on the defensive side yet. Hopefully he will get some work done between now and the start of next season or we can find a proper right back.

I am proud of the boys today and you can't fault Ashley Young's effort but he is simple not good enough for this level. Extremely ordinary footballer who needs to be upgraded on as soon as possible.

Young's first half performance was shocking. Horrendous left-foot back pass that got us in terrible trouble early on and then proceeded to give the ball away needlessly time after time. It doesn't take much to get past him.

2nd half was better. One super long pass to Rashford that Marcus failed to control and a nice surge late on that earned a freekick. Having said that, they had a dangerous cross from his side that Lindelof did well to cut out and there was a mistake in the first minute after the restart.

Didn’t think he played so bad tbh. Defensively was one of his better games and made some very good tactical fouls.

Just think lads, this bloke is going to be our first choice RB and captain again next season.

We wonder why we've fallen so far since 2013.

I have absolutely no idea why Dalot does not get any minutes. He should've been starting and been integrated into the team by now. Young offers nothing. All the praise Young receives is praise relative to a player who is 33 and a converted winger. As a fullback he is one of the worst. From minute 1 he put the team under pressure, he first points to Smalling to take the ball, then takes it himself, then plays a pass too short to De Gea. This is our captain apparently. Before having the actual audacity to point and shout at your team mates maybe have some b*****ks to look up and pick a pass out instead of pumping it up the pitch. He is at the stage he kicks a player in the shins instead of tracking back, he launches aimless passes, switches off defensively and doesnt have the energy to push up. He should be a 5th option at FB next season, new LB for competition, new Rb and Young as the dressing room DJ.

His problem was that Lukaku tired and wasn't really showing for the pass into the channel. The midfielders closest to him were generally McTominay and Pereira, and I suspect he thought the safest option was to try the ball down the line.

Given us his best years but it's time for him to hang up his boots, wouldn't even keep him as a backup.

Terrible player. Was never good enough to come here even at 24, and he’ll probably manage a decade at the club.

Not his biggest fan but the way most managers have used him and Ole had quite a few conversations with him when players were going down, would not be surprised to see him involved in some sort of coaching role if Ole gets the job.

Lots of moans, but for a supposedly terrible game and right back, Mane didn't get any change out of him.

The loose pass in the first 30secs was poor, but I don't think he was too bad today. We were hardly any sort of attacking force today so it's hard to judge on normal standards.

There's no long term value in playing him whereas putting Dalot in will have benefits in future. I think it's dead ball ability that's keeping him in at present.

Can Young be scapegoated any more than he possibly is? The guy played fantastic today. Our entire back line played fantastic. But the blind hate for a guy who gives his all every time he steps on the pitch is plain as day. Give props when it's due. Mane offered absolutely nothing today. Amazing how Young makes 1 tackle, 1 interception and 6 clearances and everyone says he was shite, while Shaw makes 3 tackles, no interceptions and 5 clearances and everyone says he's MOTM. Got news for you...there wasn't much between them today as they were both fantastic. Mind you, Young was better in the offensive side of things...

He's fast becoming our worst player, which is worrying. It's a bit hard for me to criticize him week in week out, because he clearly gives his all, but he's bellow the level required and we need a new RB in the summer.

Why are people shitting on young? He's in the team for not just defending but to add some maturity. He makes tactical fouls, keeps referees in check and argues for our players for every foul. You need these kind of warriors in the team in big matches.

For me who just recently started watching United´s every game (since I´m Norwegian, that could have something to do with OGS...), and based on your games under Ole, it´s a bit difficult to understand why Young so often are singled out for criticism. He had some bad passes today, but he is a good defender and a great reader of the game. No United player makes more interceptions than him.

Hes better than Valencia, and seeing as he is our only other option, then its difficult to be too hard on him.

He isnt a full back, he isnt a wide player and never has been, his best games have always been through the middle as an attacking midfielder, so the fact he isnt a world class fullback at 34 or what ever he is now shouldnt be surprising.

Young hardly causes us a problem in defence.

He is the best RB at the club, adds maturity & also helps our attack by actually providing width & helps the defence when he attacks too but taking the pressure off the defence when he goes on his runs.

Whilst we need an improvement in the transfer window - I don't see why people are crying about him now.

Our whole defence was great today & if young was all that bad - the defence as a whole would have felt it. I saw him make tackles & make headers all day today whilst providing much needed leadership with his attacks.

A player that is having his best years ever since he became a fullback for us.

The right hand side of Lukaku and Young really is the stuff of nightmares, at least Lukaku did actually put in a few decent crosses. His decision making was poor today, so many wasted long balls, it felt like he was ceding possession so often today. We really need to start bedding Dalot in, fairly evident that Young can't play every game.

Ironically, barring the cross Shaw put in, young put in 2 or 3 of our best crosses and one long ball over the top that had Rashford in on the keeper if he’d controlled it better

I’m not saying young had a great match but it’s wrong to say he offered nothing going forward, particularly in this disjointed match

He loses the ball so often though, in a game predicated on counter attacks and having 37% possession, you cannot afford to be wasteful.

I like Ashley Young. I mean he's no Cafu but he's good going forward, has decent to good crosses, is pretty good at beating his man. He does some bad mistakes defensively quite often I admit that, but it's good he can play on both wings. Another plus is he knows when and doesn't shy away from doing the dirty work, for example talking the head of the ref or kicking down that fecker Milner yesterday.

He seems to be the new Matic on here.
Mane didn’t get a sniff yesterday yet there’s still a page of abuse about him.
