Alright we disagree on their ability clearly, but surely seeing as though we have 4 senior players for 3 midfield positions and 3 senior players for 3 forward positions, then maybe, just maybe, we can prioritise getting in a midfielder and forward first.
A CB Is needed just as much unless you want to go into the season with maguire and Lindelof, neither of which are good enough and Varane who seems to have been signed as Phil Jones replacement. Aside from the other CBs leaving, we’ve also lost matic who could fill in there. We are an injury away from seeing McT as CB!

Nobody has left. None of them are out of contract this year. At the moment we have 6 senior centre halves and Mengi.

I'll say it again
We've got 4 senior midfielders and 4 senior forward players.

We need to sign 3 to 4 players in these positions before we think about centre half.

Abso bloody exactly. These cretins don't deserve any special treatment. Treat them like the enemies they are.

I agree and if we get better Midfielders there will be better protection for the Centre halves . We need to address midfield and up front first

Bailly and Jones have both said they want first team football and so want to leave.
Mengi is not ready and seems prone to injuries
Axel I suspect will go on loan again
Varane is prone to injuries
Both Maguire and Lindelof have been out with injuries and form has been awful

fred, McTominay, Bruno, Pareira, Hannibal, garner

next season there are a couple of young uns who may get integrated into the midfield so I wouldn’t be confident about getting 2 new ones

i think it may be 1 plus maybe a promotion

regardless, I’m not saying it’s one or the other. Im
Saying we need a cb equally because otherwise we’re in the creek without a paddle

I disagree. Even if we do manage to ship Bailly and Jones for fair prices, that still leaves us with 5 centre backs.

I'd like to see Tuanzebe get a go. The fella outpaced Mbappe! That has to warrant another look. I don't know what he did to not get a run in the team and I'm hoping Ten Hag gives him a chance.

Mengi looks promising and I'd like them to leave the 5th spot open for him. He has the pace at least to defend at a top club. Let's see if he has the rest.

Maguire and Lindelof have rarely been injured at United and despite this season they are full internationals.

We are in much greater need further up the pitch in my opinion. Our biggest problem by far is our inability to keep the ball under pressure and the main reason for that is our technically weak midfielders. So aside from the fact that we are light in midfield and attack, signing 2 top class ball hogging midfielders will also have the biggest impact on the team. A couple of forwards who can keep the ball under pressure wouldn't go amiss either.

Full international means fcuk all these days. Lindelof is Swedish team captain which shows you how far they’ve sank. Midfield or no midfield these 2 clowns were making basic errors and in Lindelofs case not even trying to tackle, that would have them out the door at other clubs. Can’t blame the midfield for all of their mishaps

as for injuries I remember Lindelof being in/out with back problems and Maguire being out too. I’m sure someone can clarify that

im not disagreeing with the other points by the way. It’s not a one or the other situation for me. We need both and it would be a mistake to overlook cb

Innit. You make a living harassing people in the street for the sake of forgettable 'content'. There's no moral code at play. No rules were broken.

Do you really need to be a successful manager before you can tell which players are lazy bastard, toxic, mentally weak, or have low football intelligent?
Motivation is key for any human being. Best managers make players better because they can inspire them and motivate them. Look what Fergie or Klopp can get from average players.
We won’t sack half the squad anyway, so telling them that they are bad will not help. If someone can find the right place he can help the team.

What was the point in bringing in Rangnick if we're not going to bother using him for the job he's actually good at? His expertise is building clubs and finding good, young players. If there was any chance he was not going to stay, we should have brought in a proper interim manager that has a decent CV in management.

I understand that, but a large part of his reason for being here was to assess the squad. That information should be useful to ETH.

I don't love Rangnick, but the whole point of him coming here was mainly for the consultancy role. We should have hired a better manager if there was a chance he wouldn't stay to do that role. I honestly have no idea if he has. I hope he has. We have heard the same thing from each new manager that comes in. I don't want the cycle to keep repeating itself. Some of these players clearly aren't good enough, and we need replacements this summer. Hopefully earlier on, so they get a pre-season with us.
Ten Hag said he will listen but has to see from himself and take the decision. And Rangnick wasn’t allowed to buy a player in the winter window and will be an external consultant. Ten Hag didn’t seem to care about Rangnick, so I don’t see your point about assessing the squad for the next manager. Any manager will want to be his own man anyway.

ETH himself said he was looking forward to have talks with Rangnick.

I don't get why the previous job being in Russia would belittle Rangnick. His work at RB is widely known throughout Europe (That's why our own Murtough came to find him in 2019). Does that mean people will prefer Rangnick from 2019 rather than the current Rangnick with 2 more years of experience added?

ETH can have some talks with Rangnick and exchange information that Rangnick has composed from this season. But the decision is still up to him. Because that's his job as manager. This is how things should be. It's different from ignoring Rangnick's input entirely. That would make Rangnick's half-season here truly a waste (Not because we missed top 4, but because we entirely missed the point).
So he will assess the squad. We agree there. He is the manager, it’s his decision.

Gary Cotterill is still fecking moaning about him.

Must be taking his divorce poorly and projecting a bit.
It's hilarious how he's making it all about himself, and making himself into some kind of big shot who you cannot conceivably not be talking to.
