Delighted to see Elanga finish it after getting hit in the head with a coin. Should have put it to bed before that but all's well that ends well.

A lot of comparisons to Martial when it comes to his finishing, the goal he scored is actually reminiscent of the types of goals he scored at the youth level. He's pretty highly rated in that regard so I'm not so concerned if he's missing some chances here and there, it's partially confidence and finding his feet.Really happy for him, especially missing the chance earlier.
Question for everyone that watched him in youths - how was his finishing? Very, very poor for his first, better for his second - but he went for placement rather than smashing it both times - was that how he was at youth level too?
We havent seen that much of Elanga yet but he has had moments (games) where you wonder if he has the quality to be a long term Manchester United player. I like that he gets a chance but so far i would pick a Rashford at his best over Elanga at his best. That is based on what they have shown in the past though, at the moment i would pick Elanga since Rashford hasnt had a good game since... forever? To be honest the match thread is full of strange emotions and desperation. No sense, thought through opinions or logic.
I would pick Elanga any day before Lingard, Rashford (this season) and Greenwood (obviously not a choice any more). Simply because Elanga gets the basics right and is of huge value defensively.
Yes that's what I thought also for both shots.Glad he scored; not convinced by the finish, on another day the keeper might have saved it. Very poor left foot shot straight at the keeper wasted earlier big chance from Sancho's pass.
thanks! He’s still young - let’s hope he can perfect it as he’s constantly finding himself in good positionsA lot of comparisons to Martial when it comes to his finishing, the goal he scored is actually reminiscent of the types of goals he scored at the youth level. Here's hoping he can be Martial with the workrate.
Easily. This kid is going places and I hope it's with usAlready better than James ever was.

Yeah if he’s willing to keep running his socks off in the way he’s come into the team and not get caught up in his own hype, he’ll have a spot for a while.I like that he hasn’t burst onto the scene like Rashford & the other guy.
I’m not looking for him to be a generational talent, just a reliable squad player.
Ah c’mon now. That’s a fairly standard choice of finish. I remember when United played Bayern in the CL and all of our attacking players were briefed in advance that the most effective one v one finish against Neuer was through his legs, only for Welbeck to try and fecking chip himNot convinced by the finish. Went through the keepers legs.
Very poor shot earlier as well.
Great cameo but on another day with 8 keepers in the net that last goal would have been saved.
He can smash them toowas that how he was at youth level too?
I agree with this. Rangknick signed Mane for RB Liepzig so I'm sure he sees some of the same qualities in Elanga as well. He's one player from the young group I'm really excited about.I still maintain the Mane comparison in terms of style. That’s what we should be trying to mould him into.
