Interesting that last years Mercedes seems a lot more comfortable than this years' Mercedes.

Race is going to be a complete lottery if it’s like this again, carnage.

However if it isn't then Verstappen is definitely winning. Didn't they say the pretty much all the winners have come from the front of the grid recently (which is actually now just the usual so not a great stat)

Ugh anyone but Stroll on pole. Absolutely sickening for Max there. Have no doubts he would have held and extended his lead in pole if they had just let him stay out there. Red Bull massively over-reacted to that Perez lap in hindsight.

I haven't seen the sector splits. Max did a 1:50 in Q2 on full wets, his first lap in Q3 was about 2 secs off. In FP3 Max did a 1:48:4 on inters, Stroll got pole on a 1:47:4. Max would have pipped Perez to pole at the time I think but ultimately inters were the right tire.

Shocked pole for Stroll, did not see that coming.
Still can't see past Max, Lewis and Bottas top 3.
All depends on the weather, both Mercedes struggled FP and qualifying, Max looks good for the win.
Forecast I think is for a dry race, but cold, getting tyres to work will be the problem.

Stroll will feck up again somehow - hopefully without taking others with him when he does.

Edit: p.s. Just read no further actions against Stroll for the yellow flag incident so he stays on pole.

Mclaren completely screwed it up taking a risk going onto inter's way too early.

When everybody is going on wets you know there's usually a reason. They then wasted 2/3 laps and didn't have enough time to get the wet tyres up to temperature.

Now they've both got a 5 grid place drop... say goodbye to 3rd in the constructors unless something crazy happens.

I wonder whether racing point went with a really wet setup expecting tomorrow to be wet as well? they seemed strangely very quick compared to the rest.

I expect Max will win as his race pace is far superior, will be interesting to see how close Hamilton can get.

Really looking forward to this. Hope they don’t start under a SC but I think they might

Max has been the fastest all weekend, cant see past him, him and Lewis are excellent wet drivers, the new tarmac has played a massive part so far and it still will.
Will Stroll back out of turn 1 , I doubt it, could take himself and a few other out.

Gasly penalty shuffles grid again
Pierre Gasly has been demoted to the back row of the grid after what appears to have been an AlphaTauri mix-up over the changing of his engine overnight.

So here's how the starting grid currently looks after Gasly's demotion adds to penalties for Sainz, Norris and Russell:

1) Lance Stroll, Racing Point
2) Max Verstappen, Red Bull
3) Sergio Perez, Racing Point
4) Alexander Albon, Red Bull
5) Daniel Ricciardo, Renault
6) Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes
7) Esteban Ocon, Renault
8) Kimi Raikkonen, Alfa Romeo
9) Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes
10) Antonio Giovinazzi, Alfa Romeo
11) Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari
12) Charles Leclerc, Ferrari
13) Kevin Magnussen, Haas
14) Lando Norris, McLaren
15) Carlos Sainz, McLaren
16) Daniil Kvyat, AlphaTauri
17) Romain Grosjean, Haas
18) Nicholas Latifi, Williams
19) Pierre Gasly, AlphaTauri
20) George Russell, Williams
