Gonna be interesting to read about how they fix this.
It's interesting how much higher Russell sits above the halo than Lewis. The max crash on Lewis, with the halo saving him may not be as effective on Russell.Few more gills

This would be nice to see. I think it's quite possible that neither Merc nor RB are among the fastest 2 at the start of the season given how much has changed. I still don't like the hub caps but i'm slowly warming to this season day by dayRussell has said that Mercedes are behind ferrari and mclaren in their car development. Ferrari and mclaren look great on low fuel runs and tyre management. Also porposing on the straights needs to be fixed by all the teams as its a safety concern and very unpleasant to experience.
I've seen a counter argument... It's not actually that undercut. It's actually that the intake is far more further forward than the other cars. If you look further back to where the intakes usually are, it's still coke bottle shaped in the usual place.
I wonder if this is why we saw Mercedes have the markings near the floor? To measure degradation due to porpoising?A good explanation. Alpine have already cut abit of their floor away, losing some downforce but reducing the porposing effect. As active suspension and mass dampers are banned in F1, surely the FIA will introduce a new rule with a minimum ride height to reduce the porposing effect on safety grounds.
Dont think this will be a quick fix.
I saw a brief clip on twitter, looks like a big problem for some teams.Who else has seen the real time footage of the porpoising? Looks absolutely mental.
I think that was banned in the electrics purge in the 90s, maybe it’s time to bring it backWhy doesn't F1 just have spec active suspension
Because active suspension on a car with huge wings is the same as active aero (i.e you can use it to decide what those wings do). It was banned after Mansell won his WDC.Why doesn't F1 just have spec active suspension
Its hideous expensive and not needed. All the FIA need to do is raise the minimum ride height if the cars. Add sensors one front wing and at the rear of the car to monitor compliance with the ride height and porposing isnt an issue. Its the quickest, cheapest way to resolve this issue. Why doesn't F1 just have spec active suspension
Liberty is American owned, there's no way they'll go against their own government and let the race in Russia happen. It’s down to Liberty, not the FIA. It’ll be a commercial discussion with the promoter.
Fair play to Vettel though.
Good.
Let's just hope they don't give the points to Max.
Half pointsGood.
Let's just hope they don't give the points to Max.
My bad.Half points
They are the king of sandbagging after all.I see Mercedes finally showed their legs and did the fastest time of the test so far.
So much for them being behind
Good.
Let's just hope they don't give the points to Max.
Well he would say that wouldn't he....Max Verstappen says removal of Michael Masi as race director 'very unfair' - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/60512909
This is quite interesting analysis.
Poor Max and Masi. So unfair for them.Well he would say that wouldn't he....
I don't think anybody really believed that they were struggling. They are the king of sandbagging after all.
Or more like the manager asking the referee to stop the opposition touching the ball so his team can score and win both the game and the league championship.Poor Max and Masi. So unfair for them.
It's like a referee in a football match having players talk to him during the game, impossible... oh wait.
hopefully max will be honourable and make sure his first son will be named Michael after his uncle Masi and not the driver.Max Verstappen says removal of Michael Masi as race director 'very unfair' - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/60512909
Mazaspin time at Haas looks to be over. Haas consulting lawyers to terminate their relationship with mazaspin's old mans company according to BBC.
Not sure Steiner would have any choice in the decision.
