Don’t care how low his confidence is. He looks like he’s having a stroke the past three appearances. What the flying feck is he doing in the squad?

He looks like Hernandez in his last 2 games he played for us. His body language and effort in those games are the exact same as mikhis. Remember Hernandez missing that penalty?

We should try to avoid players who are too dependent on confidence and mood in the future. Easier said than done, obviously, but the great man used to talk a lot about character. Mkhi, although when in the mood a lovely player, falls in under this category.

Exactly. If low confidence makes you not do the basics then you aren't a top player or professional.

Whether it's lack of confidence or lack of ability, it doesn't really matter. It all boils down to him being nowhere near good enough
You don't lose that much ability that quickly.

I think the Dortmund posters in here were right... You need to be very patient with him. Unfortunately, we don't have time for that. Also, he's not young anymore. He should be at his peak now.

I’d rather Mourinho give young players a chance in a game like this. Why’s someone like Gomes not getting a look in? Playing with Mkhi is actually detrimental at times.

Actually think he's been mostly good. Mostly, if you ignore the shocking cross and that one loose back pass that gave them a chance. Things like that is why he isnt good enough.

He's casually jogged around doing the bare minimum. What's mostly good about that?

Most of his play from deep has been good and fluid, but once he gets in the final third he seems to lose all composure. Poor crosses, losing the ball and never looking to get into a position to score. If you can't do any of that, what's the point? Hopefully he just takes a risk and finds a bit of quality, but I always feel he is one of those ultimate luxury players. Almost everyone on the pitch has to be playing well and dominating the opponent, then he might fancy it and join in. He isn't the kind of player to take the game and make something out of nothing.

He started off pretty badly, but he’s grown into the game and gotten better.
I actually quite like him sitting deep and building the play from midfield

Yepp same with Mata and Lingard a lot too. We don't seem to have a plan or any cohesion near the end. Nothing new though. Today I think Mkhitaryan have been playing quite well. Him and Mata have created most chances for us so far. He is not in great form, but none in our team is playing great at the moment. Lingard probably the only player in form.

Started the game off poorly but improved tremendously as the game went on. Created our best chance of the game and is making an impact.

Thought it would be a good time to pop in this thread.

Classic case of maintaining an opinion and striving to see only what supports it. I've watched him closely tonight and he's done plenty right. Clearly playing with a case of the shits, mind you. He's playing with fear and it shows.

However, pretending as if he been utterly shite throughout is simply one-eyed.

Shame Jose wasn't watching as closely as you or he wouldn't have subbed him off.

Looks like the manager didnt take too kindly to that first half performance. Subbed off at half time means that you played shite.

He has actually been pretty good today, could have gotten 2 assists already, both missed attempts by Rashford. He started off bad as usual but he is doing much better as he got more into the game. Everyone is using him as a scapegoat for anything that happens apparently.... shows you people make up their minds about a player before the game even starts, typical Caf fans.

Lukaku had concussion and wasn't out that long to need building match fitness. He's played the most minutes from our outfield players this season.
He got injured 6 days ago! He doesnt need to build up match fitness.
Was just a suggestion, but yeah Mkhitaryan was dross and needs to go. Luckily we are in a transfer window.
