I don't like that penalty, what's the point? Luis Suarez should have just taken the penalty himself. Dare I say it's a little disrespectful towards their opposition.
I assume that they were saying that around 2012/2013, when Bale was the better player. Neymar always had more talent and potential though, as well as a higher ceiling, and has undoubtedly been better than Bale for the last two seasons (and I do not see that changing).Neymar is fecking magic, I found it hilarious when people (mostly Brits) were saying hes not as good as Bale. Hes the heir to Messi and Ronaldo, will be the first player to break the Ballon d'or monopoly if he stays healthy.
I didn't see the game so I haven't seen the flick.Ah come on, it was done 60 years ago . I'm sure you understood that I meant (by "originial") that it wasn't something often seen on any football pitch (amateurs included). What did you think of Neymar's flick over the defender ? Too much ?
Telling the referee to feck off is illegal. If you'd say it where I'm am you'd get carded because it's not a typical reaction like it is in England. Unsporting behavior is at the referee's discretion.No. It is not illegal to do that, so your point on yellow cards doesn't make sense.
Stuttering to the penalty is only a yellow card after it was made illegal. No one yellow carded players before that.
Your point is?
Thanks. To pull that off in an actual game is amazing. Will youtube do?
It is crazy isn't it ? I mean the people who should have been the most "offended" about the pen were fine with it.You miserable bunch
Journo: "Did the penalty bother you?" Gustavo Cabral (Celta CB): "Yes, because they scored, not because of the way it was taken"
Berizzo (Celta coach): "Penalty Barcelona was lack of respect? Barça's forwards are very respectful. And they can score the way they want."
I remember Lamela's rabona goal with Spurs getting slated for the same reasons. I'm sure you guys were so embarrassed when you scored 8 past Arsenal...
ZisI didn't see the game so I haven't seen the flick.
It cons the goalkeeper, but its 10000% riskier than the stutter penalty. Come on man, you really think its an advantage to pass the ball sideways on a penalty? If anything you are increasing the chance of a feck up and looking like a clown. No way it should be illegal.Telling the referee to feck off is illegal. If you'd say it where I'm am you'd get carded because it's not a typical reaction like it is in England. Unsporting behavior is at the referee's discretion.
Yes, those penalties are illegal, that's what I was saying. My point is, again, that because people started doing it so much it was made illegal because you're trying to con the goalkeeper. The tap pass is similar but it's just so rarely done and a much lower percentage gimmick that it hasn't been banned. If you would start seeing these kind of penalties every other week I'm sure that FIFA would review it.
No I don't think it's an advantage, far from it. I've said that the whole time which is why I find these penalties stupid. I also don't think they should be made illegal anymore that it's illegal to take off your shirt but it's something that FIFA are likely to make illegal. It cons the goalkeeper, but its 10000% riskier than the stutter penalty. Come on man, you really think its an advantage to pass the ball sideways on a penalty? If anything you are increasing the chance of a feck up and looking like a clown. No way it should be illegal.
That's it."why take a fancy dan short corner when you can whip it into the box"

He does it so effortlessly. I can do the skill myself on my own but I can't execute it so well never mind do it over a professional player. It is crazy isn't it ? I mean the people who should have been the most "offended" about the pen were fine with it.

As many have already pointed out, ask Pires why.was that pass on the penalty even a legal move? if so then I'm surprised I'm not seeing those kinds of penalties more often.
That's impossible. We're never 3-1 up.imagine Rooney and Fellaini trying to pull it off.. ew
This is the reason why I fancy our chances in CL. The team seems to be up for big games, and hunger and desire is visible when we go behind. Need to be careful against other teams as well now. Don't want to let the advantage go.Tweet

Did he? (a serious question) Because this is the moment Messi took the penalty (credit @Asger , and I have already checked the video to make sure it's not shopped). It's not original, it was first done about 60 years ago and against Iceland no less. The reason it isn't done much is because you're setting yourself up for a worse chance unless everything goes perfectly. Like I said, he was a tiny bit closer but had to take a shot from a tighter angle.
Suarez entered the box before Messi took the penalty and so the penalty was illegal. What you do in that case is award the defending team an indirect free kick from the penalty spot. There's a reason why the ball has to move forward, why the kicker can't stop in his run-up and why he can't fake taking the penalty.
I'm not saying it's illegal and I'm not advocating that it should be. I just think given what rules are in place and how referee's can enforce them it wouldn't surprise me to see a ref make an unsporting behavior call on this kind of penalty. As a manager I'd probably be annoyed with this kind of penalty.
Suarez getting a hat trick, that's not something to love.
Yeah, actually I realized that the moment I looked at it again and already edited my post.@Danny1982 You aren't allowed inside the 'D' though, so Suarez is clearly ahead of where he should be.
Exactly. Messi was trying to make it easier for Neymar (so he can finally score a penalty!), but he fecked it up again. Neymar should be nowhere near the penalty box when a penalty is taken. One last thing about that damned penalty. Every time two of the trio score in the same game, they try to set up the third to score. Been so apparent this entire season. The pass was intended for Neymar who didn't score at that point yet. You can see that clearly from the replays.

Game in hand after they missed a December game due to the club world cup.Barca is playing today, wtf?
They've had a game in hand due to the FIFA Club World Championship back in December, only now catching up.Barca is playing today, wtf?
The CL knockouts are split over two weeks for each leg. Barcelona vs. Arsenal is next Tuesday.I thought it was CL week.
