You in the wrong thread?
Nah calling it as I have seen, we have been terrible but he has had a hand in all the good things we've conjured up in that nightmarish half. Would be just behind Valencia as the best player in red, the rest seem to be massively drugged or frozen by the occasion.

He was our most threatening attacker, and got an assist, but I don't expect that to get in the way of the usual dressing downs.
Just saw the bolded part, ffs

From now on whenever he touches the ball during the attack in which we scored it will be called an assist.

As one of his biggest critics, have to admit he's been our best attacker this half, Zlatan has been poor despite the goal, Mikhi and Lingard have been hopeless. If we take him off we'll be screwed I reckon

It's complete bias when you can't acknowledge any of the good things he does. Like that cross.
The cross that should've bee driven in so someone could actually get on it? We got lucky (and then a fantastic finish) and I've no problem with that, but that wasn't or shouldn't be the intention.

If you say so, but your determination to deny him any credit speaks volumes.

No one got the assist. It was blunder by their 'keeper.
Which was caused by Rooney's cross. It depends how you define an assist I suppose. Some systems do use the last player from the scoring team to touch the ball before the goal.

Under some systems, yes.
No, it's not. It counts in some situations like Rooney's "assist" in the community shield, but in this situation City's player was the last one who touched the ball, he actually intercepted it and gave it to Ibra. The fact that you already counted it as an assist describes how much of a fanboy you are. Only you and maybe that guy shamans would say this is an assist.

And that you deny the pass to Lingard was an assist - when it 100% was, under any system - shows how stupid you're prepared to look to try and do him down.

Much better with a bit more space on the right
Arguably part of the problem; he's perfectly fine when given time and space but looks much more ineffective if the opposition even begin to close him down.

Yeah, that's part of what I meant. He's just not agile enough in the middle.

No you aren't, as you've just shown.
fwiw I've thought he's been better this half with it being a bit more open in city's half. You'll probably just think I'm saying that for your benefit though because you actually have an agenda about people having an agenda

If you can't admit he did some good things in the first half though, then you're biased.

This guy sucks, I don't care that he wasn't the worse player today(as if that's now a barometer of success). He can't play as a number 10 because he brings nothing to the table a number 10 should bring. It's obvious Mourninho saw that hence why he shoved him on the wing today. His inclusion also means Pogba plays in a role he's not going to be effective in.
Sick and tired of moaning about the same shit, he's protected in this country, somehow it took about 20 fouls from him to get booked, despite numerous fouls and he should try and play to the whistle instead of hysterically claiming for a penalty every time the ball hits an opposition player in the box.
As long as he plays every minute every game, we're not coming close to the title, it's as simple as that. We dont have a good enough team to carry such a passenger of a player.

Regardless of how poor he can be throughout games, he does have the odd moment of old Rooney with a pass or set up. For me he can't last 90 min anymore, nor should he. He's slowed down so much his pace is a hinderence to the team.

Above all I think his managers as well as he himself are confused about where he should play on the field or what role he should have. He doesn't fit the role of a number 9 or 10 for me, not properly anyway. So is always a bit weak when played there.

He's no wide player either.
He's not a free kick specialist
He doesn't take our pens at the moment

I think time has come for him to be a bench impact sub to give every ounce of energy for say 30 min or so.

The fact that Mourinho moved him wide in every game so far shows that Mourinho was quite clearly unhappy with his performances as a number ten. Why he avoids to sub him off is still big question though.

The fact that he plays him every game suggests he rates him as a player.

At this point he will never get dropped so we might as well just lie down and accept it. Hopefully he gets bored and fecks off when he's 65 or something.

He doesn't want to sub the captain?

He was great in this match. His supply of balls into the box was first class. He hounded on defense.

When the Mkkitaryan's and Lingard's and even Pogba's go missing, Rooney stood up and was counted.

He was easily among our better players if not the best. Easily the best among the 4 attackers that started
