IBRA TO ANNOUNCE ON TUESDAY?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly set to announce where he will play his football next season on Tuesday.
Sky sources understand the Sweden striker will join Manchester United on a one-year contract.
And speaking to Swedish TV after Sweden’s 3-0 victory over Wales on Sunday, Ibrahimovic said: “There will be a big announcement on June 7. It will be this summer’s big bomb.”

Zlatan loves to troll the press and is difficult to read, but the rumors about United are everywhere so it would seem that he is on his way.
Rashford will be a marked boy next season. Second seasons are always difficult with opposition managers and players knowing his strengths and weaknesses. He's no way ready to be a full-time striker at a club like United.

I've never argued that people haven't struggled, I'm arguing that the reason for their struggles is not that the PL is "too good" for them.
Di Maria was easily in the top 3 in the PL the first month or two, then he was injured, then there was the break in and his family didn't want to stay in England, then LVG decided to play him in 11 different positions and then he just sort of gave up. So I very much disagree that it was the quality of the league that he struggled with.
Özil did very well for Real and then struggled as you say initially in the PL, then now this season he flourished. If it was the quality of the PL that made him struggle at first then simple logic would tell us that he would always struggle with it, unless he became a much, much better player during his time at Arsenal. Which I don't think is the case.
Every player needs an acclimation period, whether you move to La Liga, PL or wherever you go. How long that period is varies of course from player to player. New team, new league, new country, new food etcetcetc it all comes into play.
I just don't think that the quality of the PL is that much better than the Bundesliga or La Liga, at least not so much better that top class players will struggle to play at their level when they get there.

Veron was THE classic case of this.
It'll be interesting to see with Ibra. He won't have an issue with quality but at the end of his career he's stepping into football that's quicker than anything he's tried before. He'll have to do everything a second or two quicker.
I'm not getting my hopes up just yet, there's still Monday for Bayern to swoop in and seal the deal.

Problem is though the guy will have only one season here to show more or less. Hopefully, he will do good here for the sake of the club if he comes.

I dont think he is a shit player. Even if we sign him, hopefully we look into other targets as well for long term. So if we don't get him, we will get others. It won't make much of different to me since he would be a short term fix EVEN IF he performs for us.
Someone made the point to me, its not just on the pitch where this guys effect will be felt and if he can help the dressing room and training ground, Cantona esque. That surely has to be a good thing and the strikers will/should learn a lot from him. SO for this i say he'll be good. We have lost our swagger and he has the ego to help carry us back somewhat
That's probably why he finds all this so funny -- the press has us dead set on him signing for us, when in reality, only he knows that he's signing for Bayern. He's trolling the world, and loves it.

Why do people assume that he will have Cantona esque influence?! Based on what? Because he can act like a cnut sometimes in media? Have you heard about that kind of influence of his happen in any of his oh so many clubs before? he is 35 ffs. What is his history and reputation? None of them actually says anything about any kind of influence over young players let alone Cantona's kind of influence.
It is freaking odd to me that people seem to pull that thing out of their ass as soon as they think he is going to sign for us. It is like justifying their inner muppet singing with that shit because they know the guy is coming to the end with his career. So gotta make some shit up.
Speaking all of it, it would be fantastic IF he has that influence at our club. Well if he signs for us, of course.
