He's not there yet.

But for me,I'm more excited to see what Mourinho can do with him. He did it with Lampard and Hazard.

Lampard's story of how he did that is both weird but also shows how Mourinho is able to tap into a player's psyche and push them to an even higher level.
Agreed. This transfer excites me more in it's potential and the nature of the player. He has a lot of flair in his game and as a fan that's a great thing to watch.

But at the same time, Pogba has to prove himself a fair bit at OT. When you're 22, it's fine being a bit erratic. When you're the biggest signing football has ever seen, then being erratic between 23 and 27 is going to disappoint many.

Either way, I'm really looking forward to having a player of his technique and physicality in our midfield.

He's 23 though, so are you saying he's a disappointment?

His quality will improve us and we will win titles, because of that, he won't be considered a disappointment.

Yup , if he helps us win titles over the years the money tag would cease to matter

It will cease to matter in 2 or 3 years time when there's been a lot of other transfers around his price range.

The way transfer are going, I think people are going to forget about the price pretty quickly. Bale's price seemed exorbitant at the time, but two CL trophies later, no one bothers talking about it. You see average to good players moving for big sums often in the past couple of years, and that trend will likely continue in the future. The media tends to focus on the latest big transfer rather than sticking to one player.

I'm a bit worried about his mental health after reading this article.

And the France international has wasted no time in trying to familiarise himself with his new team-mates by watching hours of footage of last season's United.

We might be signing damaged good, lads :(
FFS won't be surprised if he signs for Madrid now.

One thing I've always felt about Pogba, and maybe regular Serie A watchers can correct me, is that his game isn't as refined and assured as it should be. Whenever I watch him, his moments of class are obvious, some of his touches are trickery are superb. But he can also be very erratic at times. Unlike, say, Modric, who I think is the best midfielder around right now, and who is assured to a supreme degree in everything he does. With Modric you sort of know he has complete control over all his actions. That's why I found the 100 million tag funny when I first heard it. But we obviously believe he's about to make that step up soon. And he has to. For this big a fee, you need an elite player, and from what I've seen of Pogba, he's not quite there yet.
I'm a massive fan of Modric also but they are completely different players. Modric to me is like a later Scholes or Pirlo in the sense they control the tempo/rythem of the team. Where Pogba is more like a Gerrard type in the sense that he will do the spectacular but often go missing for periods in the game. £100m is laughable but if United want to sign the top talent to get back to the top of the tree. Then this is what they have to do by bidding high to block other interest until they are back in champions league finals and a more attractive proposition for the top top players all who want champions league football.
On a side note with the fee being absurd. When you look at other transfers say Troy Deeney £35m + then in relation to this the £100m looks money well spent.

The difference he'll make to our midfield will be immense, he's the first CM we've had in years who can actually run with the he ball and comfortably get past the front man, that alone will be huge and great to watch.

As others have said, I don't think he's currently as good as Vieira was in his prime, but that's fine because Pogba isn't yet in his prime, so there's more to come from him and he certainly has that potential to reach those levels.

Vieira was a different league but it took a few years for him to reach that level, and it only started to click when he joined Arsenal, I think he played wide for Milan originally (could be mistaken).

Indeed Di Maria was irresistible when he first played for us.
He was then Vangalised and got sold off.

Though since 2008, we have had many players who people would classify as Galactico class. DDG. Rooney (yes, he may be crap now, but he was fantastic a few years back), Ferdinand, Evra, Had any of these players been sold/bought in their prime, they'd have commanded a huge transfer fee.
ADM's heart wasn't in it. He didn't want to stay with us. Don't blame LVG for this, he gave him the free role as well but he just faded away.
And in the end he showed disrespect to the club which is beyond any thing else so for me

I do think there'll at least be an announcement from the club by Monday, it's hard to see this stringing out much longer and Mourinho's comments made it seem like it's just a formality at this point. Home stretch.

Would like to think United will be doing a 'Its Zlatan Time' clip with Pogba like a 'Guess who's back' or 'I'm back' #Pogback kinda thing

A photo with Drake creates all this doubt and crying in here. I just hope Pogba isn't training with Juventus on Monday or else the forum will go down. :(

The issue is, when a striker gets this much hype its easy for them to silence the doubters and to do it, a goal on his debut usually does the trick. With a midfielders it's a bit trickery. Are people going to be annoyed if all we see from Pogba in his debut is a tidy display where he sprayed a few nice balls around and makes a few driving runs?

So beeing fed up of all the will he , wont he sign.
If this was happening at any other club we would be laughing !
Sick to death of the Pogba roadshow
I guess that must make me a muppet then.
Only fed up because of the media hype. When you break it down it's rather simple. He wasn't scheduled to return from holiday until Monday 8th regardless of it being to Juve for training or a move elsewhere, he was in the US so formalities can't be completed. All our signings do their medicals in-house, contract is signed in-house, this was never going to change.

The supposed "delay" is the fact he was on his planned holidays after the Euros. So it's the media trolling as usual and guessing.

What roadshow? It is the media and the muppets in this thread who are trying to create drama - Pogba has just enjoyed his vacation and is going to sign the contract once his vacation is over.
If you didn't have the media or this thread, then you would be none the wiser. If anything this deal has been far cleaner than most - it is normal for negotiations to take some time. It has been clear for a while now that he was going to sign.

I wouldn't be laughing at City or Chelsea if it was indeed the case. Would be bricking it tbf and hope it doesn't happen. Let any fans from other clubs not fool you into believing otherwise.
