I think he'll be far better on the right, will give him more chances than just cutting inside.

He misspassed some of his long balls but overall so direct and the only good thing in our attack today.

It's a really tough pitch. Carrick has hit everything out so far, Mata is looking more like ice-skating, so from that perspective, I'm actually impressed so far.

Bit frustrating seeing him inside left, as we need more on the right and centrally.

He looks to hit the forward pass early which is a huge plus in my book.

Martin Keown is such a thundercnut.
I don't think there's anyone in football that winds me up more than Keown. He absolutely hates United and talks utter bile.

He's got very quick feet. Seems a better dribbler than I expected.

Amazed at the booing, though. Looks like he'll be getting the Raheem Sterling treatment for a while
Think it's more the Yeovil fans trying to get themselves over for the cameras. There was a pretty loud "F**k off Mourinho" chant earlier as well. They don't get the chance to join in that kind of thing often in League Two I guess.

He's going to really hate being paired with Young
What makes you say that?

Our left side looks so much more energetic and mobile with his presence. The difference with Martial is dramatic.

50 passes in the first half with a 75% completion rate. Given the state of the pitch and the kinda balls he's been trying that's pretty good.

He makes nice runs and dribbles. Collects the pass on the left give it forward and makes a forward run. Every time he has a ball near their half he looks dangerous.
This is what we need. Enough of the "safe pass here". Who cares if he missplaces some of his passes, that's only natural if you're an attacking player who needs to make things happen. What's important is he looks dangerous when he goes forward, and that's something we lacked since Persie and Ronaldo.

That shimmy and swivel to send two defenders the other way after bringing the ball in from the left was exquisite. More of that please

Everyone is praying he can do a job on the right. Remains to be seen whether he will form a partnership there with Valencia. Would be gutted if he and Martial can't play together regularly.

Rather bitter is he not?

I did love his 'You go and play for the best team don't you, and City are the better team' was so full full of a jilted lover's bile.

You didn't play for the best team of your generation Martin, because they never came in for you - that must feel worse surely?

Considering hes prem proved and then some, i had very high expectations from him and he has delivered. A few wayward passes here and there, but hes been class otherwise and has that ability to pick up the ball and start and attack from pretty much everywhere

Him running at defenders centrally has been a nightmare for their defence

I'd love him in a free role in a central position, harsh on lingard but he can shifted to the right then.

If I'm not mistaken alexis played behind the striker last year and that was the best he has ever played, I would love to see that tried here

Doing just fine on his debut, you can see he oozes quality... He is under tremendous pressure and playing basically with our reserve team on the terrible pitch, people should lower expectations.
Anyway, I think it was wrong to put him from the start, especially in so unbalanced team.

Been our best player so far. High-risk, high reward with his passing, as expected. Don't mind it, as it's better than passing around the box aimlessly. His starting position doesn't really seem to matter as he drifts inside a lot anyway. Don't think he'll have any issues on the right if he's given freedom, which he will be.

Taken on so much responsibility. Sloppy but so influential already. If he sees a pass he lets it go, so Lukaku must be watching this with an erection
He's taking on responsibility because the midfield is crap today - the thought of Pogba, Matic, Lukaku, Martial et al with him makes me rather tumescent.

I agree and also think Lingard can play on the right. With all of them being able to move around, the interchange can be really potent.

Some wayward passes, but pretty good moments considering his lack of training overall with teammates.

We play Spurs in midweek and Mourinho said he hadn't trained at Arsenal for over a week and only had two training sessions here. He needed game time to get up to speed for then.

Gotta love him, doesn't faff about doing nothing with the ball, always looking to affect the game in a creative way. Wish he'd position himself higher up the pitch.

Quite amazing isn't it, as if players would be moving to PSG instead of Real Madrid cause they are a better team. He's joined a behemoth of a club.

Reckon he'll come off around the hour mark so would love for him to grab us a goal beforehand and allow Gomes to come on with the game won.

I thought the 'you're just a shit Guardiola...' chant was pretty funny, at least they've got a sense of humour.

Considering that we're paying him £850k/week I expected at least 3 goals by half time...
