Not going to bother with getting annoyed with their response towards Messi I just know this place would be as bonkers if we would be on the verge of signing Messi..

Remember folks, we've already been fortunate to have seen prime Ronaldo. They're only praying for catch-up!!

It's simple. If he signs for City it cements Ronaldo as the GOAT.

If I could have one player between De Bryune and Messi (at current age) I’d take De Bryune all
day long, that’s not to say I don’t appreciate Messi, he’s one of the best player ever and you can’t take that away from him. I just feel Messi is a fading force, age doesn’t take away your class but as we seen first hbd with players like Giggs and Scholes it does curtail your physical ability. These guys weren’t Messi but boy were they class and they wouldn’t have looked out of place alongside Messi and Ronaldo In any team in the world except when they were bit older say 33/34 ish. In conclusion should city break the bank for Messi yes but only for commercial and credibility reasons, should we? Absolutely not.

Only a complete idiot would take Messi over De Bruyne right now for sporting reasons.

For marketing reasons, Messi might be interesting but true big clubs like Real, Utd or Bayern don't need that.

But an insecure club like City who want to join the big boys might try get Messi on board so they can get some justification they belong with the big clubs.

Seriously no juicy updates today? arrogant bunch of trolls celebrating Messi like they celebrated kaka when a decade ago he'd never even heard of them

Positives from this:

Messi not joining is a chance for Pep to prove to everyone he is capable of winning the UCL without Messi.

Messi not joining means more playing time for Ferran, Sterling, Jesus, Foden, Bernardo.
None of them I was willing to let go.

City's champions league it is then!

Jesus, there are a lot of toys out of prams and drama queens on here. He's said he wanted to leave, slated the leadership and direction at Barcelona and stated that he's going to see out his contract.

What did people want? Him to waste a year of his career and to tarnish his years at Barca?

Jesus wept, just because we didn't get what we want, people are calling him every name under the sun. People need to get a grip.

If he signs a new contract at Barca, I can understand the ill feeling, otherwise just accept it.

Some golden nuggets on their Messi thread which started in 2009 when they thought they were going to sign him then.....11 years and waiting!:lol::lol:

Pep or money? Messi obviously doesn’t fancy getting sued for breach on contract so money it is then.

manchester city should come out and say we don't want messi next season and its done and dusted we move on

the fish in the sea are very big and younger and better than messi at 33
this could be a blessing in disguise and city find somebody that will want manchester city or will be blue blooded
and step forward phil foden
Who needs Messi when you've got Phil Foden from Stockport with a bus pass.

He just called the current president a disaster, and that he is forced to play another 10 months under him against his will to avoid taking the club he loves to court.

People that think this was the end of it is kidding themselves. If it was he would be way less aggressive in his comments.

Its up to Barca to not look bad now. Accept fair offers for him
It's the hope that kills......Fair offer incoming

It is called doing the copacabanana - South American star player pretends he is signing for City to get a better deal somewhere else. There is a pitfall as Robinho found out when his bluff was called by Real M and he was forced to sign for us- but Sanchez did it twice and Kaka used us to get his Madrid move. Said this days ago, and also that it would be a toxic signing if it did happen as the money is stupid and it would disrupt the whole squad.

Relieved now.
Phew, what a relief we missed out on Messi!

On Phil Foden
I agree, don't understand how people cannot see how good he is now and how better he is going to get, he is comparable with Messi at the same age.
I'm sure Barca are raging they can't swap Messi for Garcia
Oh Barca Garcia going to cost you 50m or you can wait a year you cnuts.
right, i gave you some English spelling lessons before , so here is an old English saying ,go and feck yourself you fecking baby, your acting like a spoilt fecking child,as for calling people mongoloids ,your the fecking Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime, now go and put your fake ronaldo jimjams on and go to bed.
Foden, most talented young player they have ever seem, I assume they are a fetus still?
Foden is the most talented young player I have seen but have you seen the debut goal Messi scored aged 19. I think it was against Levante. He ran from the half way line and beat player after player. 33 year old Messi doesn't score that goal
