Said months ago been impressed but too early to judge as seen other managers post Ferguson do well in there first seasons and then flop and that this window would be a good indicator of how his future could progress here.
Thoght the first window seemed a tad rushed "I want Timber, Antony and two CM"....reckon he wanted one or two more signings. But we missed out on Timber and ended up paying on all three of our major signings as good as two were last season and ended up in the free transfer market as short.
Said before this window that ideally we need 7 signings and at least 10 players out. Well we are about half way there (ith Hoijlund about to sign) so interesting to see how the rest of the window plays out.
I actuallly have changed to six as thought we needed competition for Bissaka as maybe not good enough, now I dont. But we do need a second striker, second keeper and second centre back in my opinion and to do that we do need to riase money, Elanga is the only one of any value to go so far....there are at least 5 to move on who hold value.
What I have liked in the first full window settled in moving to a new season with Ten Hag, is he seems to have a clear vision of what he wants from his team and how he wants them to play and he is making signings to fit into that system, other managers failed to do that.
We all have our personal choice in the market, so personally I am not delighted by any of the signings so far, but I am not dissapointed either like I have been with many signings we have made in the past. That is probably overly critical this window though, personally was time for DeGea to go and I really dotn see a single keeper around and available I am super confident will fill the shoes to be a quality number one mentally and makign saves.....but he hugely improves the flow of our football and confidence at the back in that regard. Mount was a big surprise, think he is a good player, but I am still not sure how well he will work as a number 8. Hoijlund I simply havent seen bar 20mins for Denmark, but from youtube and what I have read and the simple fact we havent had a good striker uner the age of 30 and fit for a long time.....I am excited about him and how he could add so much to the play of our wide players with a genuine striker to feed.
But if Greenwood doesnt come back this season, still concerned about one striker. Not concerned about no dm if we dont sign Arambat tbh as always thought Mainoo could come through as the back up this season.....My biggest concern player wise is at centre back. Luke shaw can play the left but it takes away from us at left back as Malacia did ok the first few months but seemed to fade later on and Varanes injuries....just dont have the faith in Lindelof over 20games or so to continue our momentum, nor do I have any faith in Maguire.....really want to see us sign a promisin gyoung centre back to compete with Varane, as Lindelof isnt that guy to me
