The best thing about Gymnastics is I have no idea about what is actually good, everything looks incredible to me.
True, like when they said the Swiss guy landed on the wrong side of the pommel horse. He covered it up well.

Gymnasts are absolutely incredible athletes, probably the most remarkable in all of sport. I can only watch it for 15 minutes at a time before I get bored though.
They're amazing athletes with incredible bodies. Even the most "average" looking ones out there, still look way better than the average folk. I love the rings though, I could watch it for hours.

Uchimura is unreal, his landings are timed to perfection. Incredible ending to the allround!

Verniaiev deserved it just as much for me though speaking from my very limited knowledge of gymnastics.

Britain's Andrew Willis coming close in the 200m breaststroke, 4th but missed out on a bronze very narrowly.

Fecking hell I'm literally shaking, silver medal for Pieters in the 100m freestyle men! Incredible, unbelievable. An 18-year old wins it which is amazing as well.

GB's men's hockey team lost its game to Australia a little earlier: all hopes of progressing to the knockout stages now rest on goal-difference and the performance of others. We suffered particularly thanks to one green and one yellow card in the latter stages.

Though better discussed in another forum, i really do think that football could benefit from a sin-bin when sanctioning players.

For practitioners of the sport i am sure than fencing has some appeal, however the decisive moments were too fast for me to take in when watching on TV yesterday evening.

Most of gymnastics, diving etc are like that to me. I tink 'what an incredible dive/move' and he gets just above average.

I really wanted Chad Le Clos to win the 200m butterfly yesterday. Oh well..
Worse is that he didn't even get a medal.

Chad fades too badly in the last 20m. He should've used the same strategy that he is used in the 200m freestyle . Go hard and lead from the front then try to hold on.

He gets another shot at Phelps in the 100m butterfly.

Decent night in the pool for Australia.

And a tremendous effort against the us in basketball
3 brilliant performances in the pool resulting in a gold and 2 silvers. And the Sharks beat Japan in the water polo. They now face Greece and Serbia. Their group is wide open so 1 more win might just be enough to make the quater finals.

Great recovery from Croatia in the mens doubles for rowing. Good battle between them and Lithuania.

Czechs looked set to take the gold in kayaking, then capsized. Only seconds away from winning too, or at least taking the lead.

Form is temporary, bans are permanent.
Worse is that he didn't even get a medal.

Chad fades too badly in the last 20m. He should've used the same strategy that he is used in the 200m freestyle . Go hard and lead from the front then try to hold on.

He gets another shot at Phelps in the 100m butterfly.
Yeah, he faded badly in the last 20-30m. Didn't even finish 3rd. He had a great start in the 200m freestyle but couldn't hold on. He's a great swimmer though. He needs to go the extra step and become unbeatable like Ledecky, Phelps. Or even finish on the podium consistently like Lochte, Adrian.

Murray through in a cracker of a game. Blew Fognini away in the 1st set, then lost 8 games in a row to be a set apiece and 3-0 down in the 3rd. Came back to win the 3rd set 6-3. Very nervy game. Brilliant for him to have his battle early on, and can hopefully kick on from here now.

Rowing and a spot of badminton earlier in the day, followed by some dressage (Charlotte and Valegro looking good). Missed the kayak Final though, which was annoying.

GB's men's sprint team just set a new OR: the next round begins in three-quarters of an hour or so. Before that there is qualifying for the women's team pursuit.

Fiji vs GB in the Rugby sevens gold medal match from at 11ish.
