WWC19 | Final: USA v Netherlands

That English player couldn't even take a throw-in. WTF!!!
This is terrible from England.
Missed penalty.
Player gets sent off.
Now the players seem to be making basic errors.

Never a pen.

This ‘clear and obvious’ interpretation doesn’t seem to be adheared to, with everything being analysed by VAR.

You know it’s not clear and obvious when the ref goes to their screen and watches a million replays in slow mo and full speed and you still don’t know what she’s going to call as she runs back in the pitch.
That pen could have gone either way, yes there’s contact when you frame by frame it but they’re running next to each other. She wasn’t knee’d @Nick7

You watch that replay in full speed only and I doubt the ref spots anything

That was incredibly clever and well played.

England would have won this if they had better CBs, they are so easily pressured into errors. It's terrifying when they are on the ball.

Stupid shot to take in 95th minute, that's a little bit of naiveness you don't see as much in the male one.

I didn't think it was. It was clumsy but completely unintentional. Didn't look like she made much contact either.

Still, as @0le said, she couldve got a straight red for her second one so fair enough

Well if that's the excuse, then the second one wasn't a yellow card either as I dont think that was intentional, recklessness was there in both incidents.

I don't think not spotting first time makes it any less obvious

People saying it's not pen surely just didnt see the contact? Once you see it, it's stonewall.
The defender was running in her natural position. The attacker actually hit the defenders foot whilst trying to shoot. Apologies I don't know the players' names.

Why have England completely forgot how to pass the ball?

And wtf was the American commentator on about? It was a mistake and she should have shown Morgan to the inside... what so she could score?

Well the only thing going home is England.

On to the Final!

USA! USA! USA!

When did football turn into a non contact sport? We've all played football and got the slightest contact and non of it was even remotely strong enough to bring me down even running at full tilt, ive been clipped on the ankles when running at goal but still managed to carry on, a slight of the slightest knee knocks slowed down to an inch of it's life is 1. Not nearly enough to be a penalty and 2. To bring you down.

That was not a penalty, if you're going to call that a penalty then a tap on the shoulder that you somehow goto ground on, is one too.

Womans football has definitely improved since I last saw it at the Olympics 2012? But there remain so many basic errors (foul throws, poor penalties, so many miss kicks, poor set pieces) which need to be improved on.

Isn't the back up CB in the squad a regular for Arsenal? Really don't understand Phil Neville thinking on that.

Think he should've stuck with 4-3-3 aswell.

Ah well. Good tournament from our ladies.

Lloyd was a great substitution. Quite the luxury, to keep her on the bench.
