No one said that though. It is funny yo create fake arguments that you win over.
Umm people want him on the left - tracking back providing crosses 24/7 to lukaku as our lone striker. Have I really made that up? That's what he was asked to do; what people were complaining about, where people said his best formation was.

Guess what - I ain't made anything up; back up front CF Like his first season under LVG playing alongside Lukaku; playing absolutely wonderful in both his last games; guess what? In Central positions. Ever since we went 2 - 0 & we have changed formation and has been back to LW/LM.

 apparently I made this up - go back a couple pages & have a read

He's basically still playing on the inside left. It's his best position. He's certainly not a winger, but he definitely plays best off the left hand side. Allows him the freedom to drift across too.
He's is on the left because he is partnering Lukaku; being anl forward who plays on the left is different to the martial who was battered for not hugging the touchline trying to cross to our lone striker. In fact the goal today martial was more to the right hand side which would not happen at either LW or LM. Same with Watford; his best plays happened so centrally that he was more on the right than the left.

having a great match. if lingard had scored that chance it would've been 2 assists already

Playing on the left and as a LM are very different things. His best games are in the attacking trio on the left, has been his entire career and not as a LM. So yeah, you made up a non existing debate that you won, well done.

His best performances at United has come as a CF. He is better in the box in Central areas - check what he did in central areas for France, last game against Watford, this game for his assist and the whole of his first season. Don't make it seem like I have no evidence.

I have been watching him since Lyon man so I think I know what I am talking about. His best games for France (not many of them) have from playing as that left attacker.
He has the tools to become a top class striker don't get me wrong but he has been better at that position. It allows him more possibilities to run at defenders (RBs specially).

He's can rarely beat a RB Because he can't beat his man on the outside which becomes a non problem in the central areas.

He can rarely beat a RB ? Nah man, it's hard to take you seriously when you say something like this. He does that consistently well. I believe that there are many compilations of RBs he destroyed

He seems pretty pissed at being subbed.
that's a good thing. you want your players to want to play, and tbh its understandable, he was having a really good game, one assist and created another clear cut chance for lingard so its unfortunate he had to be the casualty for us to get more defensive solid

He was last game too. In his 13 starts this season he's played 80+ minutes twice, 75-79 minutes three times, 70-74 minutes three times, 65-69 minutes four times and 45 minutes once. He probably wants to play longer - natural for any player.

I'm happy for him. Decent performance and Mourinho wanted to shore up midfield.

He can't beat them especially on the outside - I love martial but it's one of his weakest abilities is he always cuts in and never takes his man on the outside

He doesnt have to take them outside. What is this obsession with taking players outside ? Messi when he used to play on the right of the attacking trio at Barca, was 95% of the time cutting inside.

Martial regularly goes past people on the outside when playing on the left, feck knows where this has all come from now.

He has a number of assists and countless crosses from running his rob and getting to the byline to cross since he’s been here.

Messi taking his man on the inside most of the time is balanced by his ability to take his man on the outside if he wishes - that's what makes him a handful to defend against you don't know where he is going or going to go. Martial can cut in amazingly but his ability to that on the outside is not as good so he becomes easy to defend against.

Anyway that's the end for me.

Regularly? Go on show me some - how he dribbles past & cuts is a totally different capability to his ability to do on the outside.

But Martial isn't easy to defend against... Wtf are you actually watching. Even if he does the same thing, it works time and time again.

Just randomly picked a page pre-watford & this is what another fan said

"Rashford was horrible yesterday. At least Martial attempted to beat his man and play a cross a few times.

I have always thought Martial would be best in a proper front 3. As a LW he is too far from goal and spends all game trying to run inside but as a CF he is not enough of a presence"

Looks like I'm not the only one is it? You want another fans?

Would like to know what he was muttering under his breath as he left the field.

Somehow I don't think it was "I wonder what's for tea tonight?"
Just showed him at the end of the game rubbing Lacazette's chest smiling (I think... my stream disconnected right after). I'm sure he's okay.

Why was he so pissed to go off  he did his job well and we needed to get Herrera on.

He looks better in this system, great work for the goal.

Pretty much this.

I mean one could even say it was a bit like bread and butter move for him at some point especially in his first season. Just watching a couple of youtube videos of Martial one would see he has a bunch of assists going on the outside and putting the ball back in that danger area in the box.

He, like every player, wants to finish matches and when he's constantly being the first one subbed despite playing better than most, it's understandable.

The hell is your problem? My nonsense opinion is said by others as much as yours is supported by others. Martial is a CF for me - that's the end of conversation. Same with rashford who has been wasted on the wings; he is also a CF.

If he wasn't pissed, people would criticize him for not caring.

He always enjoys playing against Arsenal. Was a terror to them when he was with Monaco for that CL game, and even when we lost 3-0 under van Gaal, he was the only one threatening their defenders.

All those starts. Strange. It's like Jose actually fancies him. :D
Ha ha that's one way of looking at it.

Another is that Jose is finally giving a run of games to our best attacking player(after Pogba) and is being rewarded with form. Something fans knew a long time ago. Next up he just needs to trust him for a full game.

Either way glad it now seems to be working out.

I have no problem. I think th way you are defending your position made no sense whatsoever.
You basically were inventing a narrative to come to the (valid )conclusion that he can be a great striker.
