Am I the only one who doesn't think it's a good deal to send him to Arsenal? I guess if it's him going there or no Sanchez for us you'd go for it but it's hardly ideal
He's leaving anyway, be it this summer or now, might as well include him in a deal that gets Arsenal more willing to give us Sanchez. A good will gesture if you will. I do think he'll do well for Arsenal anyway, he's more suited to them then to us, but getting Sanchez strengthens us way more then Miki would help them.

Just seems all setup for him to tear it up there, hopefully it goes the Silvestre/Welbeck way instead

I still think he can make it here. I don't think he's been given the free pass some other players receive. He's also got a very different character to the Pogbas and Lingards. He needs different support and think the only thing stopping him from doing good is some more time.

Meh, honestly wouldn't care much if he does pretty well there. He's not suited to us, that much is clear, I don't mind him going somewhere else where he'll be successful. Also I don't see Arsenal as a direct rival these days. Especially not if Sanchez comes here. We'll be going for the title, they'll be going for the top 4. Of course he could possibly score against us and put in a great performance, but it happens. Have no ill will towards the guy, it just didn't work out here so if he can be used in a mutually beneficial deal to everyone, then great. How do you think Arsenal would react if we try to buy Sanchez and then they offer to get the guy who we are trying to offload and we tell them we don't want to sell to them? They would rightly then say feck off for Sanchez then.

Who receives a free pass?

He's had more than enough time. He was diabolical for weeks and weeks before getting dropped.

He’s a good player in the right circumstances but Mou doesn’t work well with confidence players. He admits that himself, he says he can’t relate to players without the same fight and drive as himself.

You mean when he played several poor games in a row; and everyone was convinced Mourinho was playing favourites. When people were clamoring for Mata or Lingard to take his spot. When Griezmann is January looked like an option because we had a nothing player in the no.10 spot.

I feel sorry for him, he pushed for this move and now he has 600m fans demanding he moves to lowly Arsenal

Can someone please tell me why all the various pundits say that Mkhitaryan's career at Dortmund was fantastic ?? He truly had one excellent season but somehow it has translated into him being sublime for them most of his time... Don't they even have the professional decency to check some facts ?

Nobody gives a feck about research and jumps on bandwagons, like he was voted as best player in the league when he wasnt, he was given that award by a newspaper, not officially by the league.
I think we over estimated him, while he has also underperformed, which makes the gap between expectation and reality very big. Resulting in disappointment from fans and manager.

I can understand coming from fans in general but those cnuts get paid to say this shit on media and they get paid big bucks. People pay football coverage too, I'm not happy to listen to cretins talk about things they have no clue of when they have all the ressources and access to check things.

Most of them are just there because they were players in the past. I am very sure many people who would do better job without the past in football are never given the chance.

What wage is Mkhitaryan on? I've seen 140k-220k reported. I could see Arsenal paying 140k but not 200k plus for a player who's not in his best form

Bild wrote at time of signing, the euro equivalent of £200K per week. I got the impression that included signing-on bonus split over length of contract.

Generally speaking, United's total salary bill only adds up if players earn near the top of estimates online.

Disappointing thing is that it was pretty likely it will pan at this way. A confidence player under Jose after one good season in his career was always going to end up this way.

He was very good for us in the Europa league run.. Started the season well and tailed off as it progressed.. Looking at it form outside he should be a good fit at Arsenal..

Can understand why he has reservations about moving to arsenal, maybe he would like to assess at the end of the season when he will have more options to move.. Some of the hate he's getting right now for refusing to leave is over the top..

Mkhi Mouse and his fancy sports cars can do one. Has been given 18 months on 200,000 a week and has maybe had 5 good games. Thanks for trying Mkhi but you know where the door is. Nothing worse than players sticking around just to pick up the money like Wazza in his final year or two, Winston Bogarde back in the day etc

Think Kagawa was better for us tbh.
Similar first seasons: disappointing, but did enough (especially in Europe) to justify persevering with.

Any chance of Kagawa kicking on was obliterated by “they say he is a good player” Moyes. Not that I’m convinced he would’ve even if Ferguson had stayed. In contrast, Mkhitaryan has been given every facility in his second season, and if anything has got worse.

He's had an awful season with us, but the comments on mental strength are baseless (as if anyone on here has insight to that).

I see him doing well somewhere else.
Well his career has solid evidence of him being flaky as feck. Dreadful for some managers, decent for others. Dortmund being a great example where he was piss poor under Klopp but turned it around under his successor. Despite all his team-mates being good under both managers. If that’s not mental weakness, what is it? Physical?

Certain players perform better under certain managers for a multitude of reasons - mental fortitude shouldn't be concluded from this.

It's very harsh to label someone mentally weak.

Yeah, I'd rather we give Arse £30m cash and sell Mkhi to a German/Italian team instead. Even if it means fetching £5m-£10m. The chances that selling him to Arse could come back to bite us are very small, but I'd rather they are not taken at all if we have a choice.

If it's necessary for getting the deal done then feck it, get it done. But if it's not....

Can he please feck off to Arsenal so we can get Sanchez sooner? He has got only himself to blame for not making it here. I didn't want him in the summer of 2016 knowing that he is a mentally fragile player. I still remember his CL performances in 13/14 and 14/15 seasons where he seemed like he doesn't know what to do under pressure. He's a bottler and will fit right in to Arsenal. Good technical and passing ability but at least a level below the required standarts in top clubs. If Sanchez transfer falls through because of him staying put, i would be fuming that's for sure.

Arsenal is good option for Mkhitaryan, he has no future at ManUtd and Jose more or less confirmed it by dropping him for so many games. He should move to get his career back on track and I don't think there is any club better than Arsenal will make a move for him.

Why? If I was underperforming at my job, I would be given the boot too. Lots of players have had far less opportunities to prove themselves. This is not a youngster, he’s 29 and in the prime of his career, but proved time and time again he’s not good enough.

Might be harsh but if the cap fits...

Like I said, what other reason could there be for him finding it so much harder than his peers to perform under certain managers? I guess it’s possible he’s just not very talented and had one freak season. All the more reason to get rid.
