Typical performance.

Not even a surprise.

The argument that he tries things so he's wasteful doesn't apply either imo. He is generally incredibly wasteful in almost every way and I don't think I've ever seen a player who loses more 50-50 battles than he does.

Was terrible today. It was almost as if he was playing for Southampton, the way he kept gifting possession back to them. Has been poor for quite some time, only thing is he had an assist in the other matches to save grace. Today was just pure garbage.

Not being able to be influential when thing gets tough seem be his tag for now. Seems like a dependent player on the whole team performance.

One moment when he created Lukaku's chance in the 2nd half, otherwise rather disappointing.

Great movement, good intent, absolutely shiteous final ball decisions. Why can't he bloody keep it simple? He does all the good work of getting himself into prime position to set someone else up and either fecks up the pass/ignores the simple through ball/ decides to shoot through bodies.

Was good in the first, bad in the second. Same as us, and dont think we were bad because he was, but we as a team were shit. Dont think he is one to turn around a game on his own, just as Mata isnt

Needs to be benched, his stats have covered up the cracks for a few matches but he hasn't been good all season.

No doubt he creates some of our best chances each game but also no doubt he's a very frustrating player to watch on a weekly basis.

We'll need to upgrade on him next season tbh.

Poor in possession on the whole, again. Hes his own downfall when he has the ball, he runs with his head down, there's no awareness of where his teammates are most of the time. When he ran through and it was 3 vs 2 and he had Lukaku pulling off the shoulder of the defender, he kept running and lost the ball just typifies his performances of late.

Good player, but his final ball is lacking at times. Small things, but that pass to Lukaku towards the end wasn't good enough. Lukaku on his left foot has a near certain goal. We're talking inches, but that can be the difference between yay or nay.

Problem is we have another person in the team who does that too.

Him and Mata are such passengers its untrue
Mata doesn't lose the ball anywhere near as much as Micky. He's more of a ball circulator high up the pitch for us, tasked with linking the play and keeping the pressure up while Micky has a free license to roam around and pull the trigger.

His poor performances have been masked by late goals and assists. He was woeful today. He gets into some great positions, but then makes terrible decisions.

He was just gifting them possession every time he had the ball today. Should be dropped for the next game.

Compare him as a playmaker to Eriksen, Coutinho, Silva, KDB, Isco etc. and you realize the gap in quality.

He's not very good, and that's something I say pretty much every match regardless of whether he gets an assist or two. He just doesn't offer enough in attack. He's a million miles away from a player like De Bruyne or Eriken, and that's the level of playmaker we should be looking at getting.

Unexplainable moments of mediocre football level when pretty much everyone saw how he ripped defenses apart in Bundes.

100% sure he can do better.

Rooney's ball and van Persie's volley.
He tries tricks and turns and things that we definitely need in the middle of the park. Which is good as a No. 10.

However, the opportunity cost for the same is too high. Too damn high. He's weak physically for the league, I guess that's fairly clear by now. Also, the times he does manage to run away successfully, the turnover ratio of a good product is also not very good.

Time to reconsider this? 6 assists say otherwise, okay, but definitely the next few games should decide this!

I really don't feel premiership games suit his style of play and this is based on 1 year plus of watching him. It's no coincidence he was ace in the europa league last season while not replicating that form during league games where things are much tighter

Most of his goals have come when we release him and he has only one player to beat but right now even if he beats one there are many more lying in wait to take his place

But these last couple of games seem to have been much worse as his decisuon making has been horrendous all season long but now lacking the end product to mask it.

It's a shame really 'cause he's the one to have the best footballing brain normally and I hope he fixes it soon and if not he needs to be benched for some time again

Didn't get an assist today to mask his game.

He's so weak. It's ridiculous how easy it is to get the ball of him. Ruins so many counter attacks.

Unfair how much criticism Mata gets. I'm sure he'd do a LOT better than Mkhi at the 10 in games where we are on top. I get Mkhi is a good ball carrier on the counter, but he just hasn't shown he's good enough so far.

If there is a gif of that moment you can see he tried to nutmeg the defender AGAIN. He did exactly the same in the last game when Martial was free on 2-3 occasions and he kept running with the ball. Infuriating at times

Said that during the halftime. This guy is obsessed with nutmegs it's insane. Just because he did it once he now tries to do it every time!!

Poor performance. Still happy with his season so far overall though. He loses the ball a lot, he also creates and scores a lot. He's a direct player that suits our playing style.
