Am genuinely surprised at that view. I'd put Kroos ahead of him.Yes, easily.

Planet football. . Glad it's causing you all such amusement.on what planet?
DDG was hell bent on leaving last season.Yes because a player has to be 100% committed to us and we need to be their first choice or they're not welcome here. Guess we should get rid of De Gea then too.
And what's more, if he did feck off to Madrid in his prime, we'd make a big profit on him anyway (as long as we keep on top of his contract!).There's the argument that Pogba's the sort of player to move round all the time with that cnut of an agent, but I think we'll keep him for a few years at least based on how much we're paying for him.
I'd agree with that too. Kroos would be my preferred option I think. The question was who is ahead of Pogba today. I honestly think a fit in-form Cesc still is ahead of him. That's doesn't mean I'd sign him of course.Well three years ago I'd have agreed with you on Fabregas!
As for the four... at 32 I'm not sure Iniesta would be a better signing than Pogba, much as he may still be the better player right now. Similar can be said for Modric to a lesser degree, and even Vidal is 29 already.
I'd take Kroos, though even in his case I've not been as gutted as I expected that we missed out on him before - the level he's playing at is a level I'd be optimistic Pogba will be at by his age if not earlier.
Thanks for the heads-up BUT, why would a doctor, that was mentioned by name, miraculously be writing on Twitter, generating column inches about something that had not been previously planned? Was there not enough exposure about the transfer in today's press for Raiola's liking? It's not true... The spanish, Madrid friendly, media completely made it up. The doctor who was supposedly going to do the medical even came out on twitter to say it was bollocks.
Fair enough, looking back that was indeed the question! The question was who is ahead of Pogba today. I honestly think a fit in-form Cesc still is ahead of him.
He never said that at all. He said Pogba's a Juve player and we must respect Juve so he can't say anything anymore on the player.Yeah, it's hard to ignore the "He is not yet a Madrid player. We cannot talk about what will happen." line
Pogba hasn't said anything - about anyone. I prefer that personally then the I'm staying..or I'm a slave bullshit. It's not what people say for show. It's what people say behind the scenes that matters. Not everyone is the same. You cannot expect him to come out and say what you want. If it fell through, he'd probably spend a season getting abused by a section who wouldn't forgive him.DDG was hell bent on leaving last season.
Had Jose not come this Summer, DDG would definitely have left us this season. No Galactico class player wanted to join us under LVG. We had 2 such players - 1 left and the other did his best to leave, but Madrid messed up the Fax.
Now that Jose is here, DDG is 100% committed to MUFC.
Before Bale/Ronaldo signed for Madrid, they expressed their desire and love for Madrid.
Has Pogba done this, with regards to MUFC?
If this was a £20M transfer, I wouldn't be fussed if the player was half hearted. But for a World Record, like Bale and Ronaldo before him, I'd expect something to come from Pogba.
I've heard absolutely nothing from Pogba (I want to join MUFC). Not one thing.
I agree. Fergie sought out players who ticked precisely those "desire" and "commitment" boxes as part of his recruitment strategy - and it paid off greatly for him. The principle is still sound, but it's becoming harder to stick to it.Of course the climate is different. But that doesn't mean fundamental values around genuine desire and commitment should be abandoned. I really do wonder what SAF thinks of all of this.
Perez likes these big deals to stretch out so that it gets a lot of media attention, but he wouldn't just let it all be United talk for the last month if we were really in for the player. That's the number one reason why I think we're not in for him.Not sure why there's so much arguing here. Anyway, the quotes from Zidane are quite clear. Madrid are still interested and expect that they might get Pogba, so dismissing the idea is silly.
It seems that Madrid have been unable to coerce the player into kicking up a fuss to get the fee reduced, and are probably still trying to get this done. I expect that if it looks like we're close to signing him they'll be forced to pay up though.
Pogba has already spoken highly of United and of Manchester in the past. He's currently a Juventus player so what do you expect him to say about us regarding a possible transfer? It'd be incredibly unprofessional to talk about United whilst under contract with another club. If/when he signs for us then he will give a statement expressing his love for United and then you can all put your insecurities to one side and sleep easy.DDG was hell bent on leaving last season.

Good heavens but some muppets are slow. That's yesterday's news and was proven to be false already. If this is true then we should tell the fat c*nt where to go and throw our money away at something else.

He's an unbelievable talent … BUT I have never seen anything that tells me Pogba is in the "top player in the world" bracket – surely I'd have seen that by now if the figures being quoted are true? He's also, possibly, a bit of a loose cannon and I think this price-tag will almost certainly go to his head - maybe not 100% Ballotelli-wise but enough to make us look stupid.
My advice chuck £40m at an ageing Modric and let Real have Pogba … or, just chuck €120m at Athletico for Griezmann! And we'll still have money left over for a half decent midfielder!
Somebody else tweeted him to ask if it was true is why. Thanks for the heads-up BUT, why would a doctor, that was mentioned by name, miraculously be writing on Twitter, generating column inches about something that had not been previously planned?
Sells on clauses are very common place. I think United have one with Zaha, so if Palace sell him United will get a cut of the transfer fee.
The Pogba situation is different because he wasn't bought from United, he was signed on a free transfer. The sell on clause is directly linked to the agent and not a club.
This would have been a key clause in Pogba's contract that Juventus agreed too.
They are duty bound to pay it if they sell Pogba and this has nothing to do with Manchester United at all.
Raiola will get a separate agent fee from United once the deal is completed.
Pretty sure it's common practice to have a sell on percentage go to the agent. A team sets an overall price and a portion of that goes to the agent. Juventus are saying they want 120m after they pay off the agent, not the 120m all together like what was reported they asked for initially so that's probably where the stall comes from .
Thanks guys for the replies. This isnt the normal agent fees you pay when you buy a player. The player and his agent, when signed, had an agreement with Juventus that in the case they sell him, the club pay them 20% of the transfer fee. Thats what Juventus are haggling about.
You also haven't heard "I want to join real Madrid."DDG was hell bent on leaving last season.

I read that. So obvious they're in for him and think theyll get himAccording to Sky Sports he did:
"I do not know, so far we are here (Columbus) working.
"Until August 31 anything can happen. He is not yet a Madrid player. We cannot talk about what will happen.
"The question is direct and I always say things. But now is not the time to talk about it. Everyone is interested in Pogba. He is a great player and when you're with Madrid you always want the best. Now you have to respect some things, he is a Juve player, today I cannot say anything."

Yup. Time for a new target.I read that. So obvious they're in for him and think theyll get him
You're assuming all players are the same. They're not. Firstly, you have no idea of what Pogba really wants apart from a few articles, most of which are fabricated. Secondly, you don't give up a chance to sign one of the best midfield talents of his generation on the chance that we're not his preferred destination. If we were to only sign players who loved Manchester United and who had us as their preference we wouldn't be able to sign many, if any top tier talent. That's the harsh reality. We had a season where DDG was still bent of leaving, yet he had arguably his best season for us. These people are professionals.DDG was hell bent on leaving last season.

Yes, like Pogba can force Juventus and interested parties to agree a feeThings are getting embarrassing now for all concerned. We should pull the plug on this. If he wanted to come, it would have happened - I honestly think we are being used to being Real (clearly Pogba's first choice) into negotiations.
Jesus it's not even Pogba delaying, we've already got a deal with him! it's the clubs arguing about Raiola's compensation.Things are getting embarrassing now for all concerned. FWIW, if they do bid, i think hell pick them
Time for Doom & Gloom round 756Yup. Time for a new target.
These drawn out transfer threads never have a happy ending these days.
They've taken the quote and twisted it. He DID NOT say it in those words, only the lower quote.According to Sky Sports he said both those things:

Thanks Jose. Mind giving us a heads up on who you're interested in?Time to let this one go, too expensive and PP has yet to show any kind of desire to come back.
Closing in on , if reports are to be believed, a £250m deal over five years. At that level, with this player, no ta.
Sure but not worried about Barcelona as they have cleanly ruled out moving for Pogba. If Zidane had done something similar, we would not be having this conversation at all.And he would choose Barcelona over Real. Barca aren't in for him either.
