My wife has a baby on the way within the next two weeks and being a private tutor, this period from now until June is really busy. So the No Mates '46-'66 draft will have to be July or so at the earliest. I also think having a bit of a rest from the No Mates theme would be good.
congrats physio! :)

The live/skype thing sounds great in theory, but as an actual working draft it could be a bit of a mare. I don’t think a full roster of 16 managers is realistic, all things said and done.

Of course, it could always be done just for the hell of it - regardless of whether it’d actually work as a draft.

As for the next proper draft, I’d like - as always - to try out something new for the matches, if there’s anything interesting worth trying, that is. But an all-time snake with no limitations and no new features - well, that’s too dull for my blood.

How about a Dice Roll draft? Kind of a variation of the Monopoly....or more like all previous drafts rolled in one.

It'll be a regular Snake Draft with 12 predefined criteria. With a free GOAT 1st pick...

Something like

1) No Club Mates
2) No country Mates
3) Played with previous pick in club
4) Played with previous pick in NT
5) Must have have been born in UK
6) Must have played in EPL between 2010-current.
7) Must not be born between 1960-1980
8) Must not be born in or played for NTs of Bra, Arg, Spa, Ita, Eng, Ger
9) Open Pick. No criteria.
10) Everybody gets O'Shea ;-/
11) Played for more than 7 years at a club.

Every turn the mod will roll the dice and determine the rule that applies for that turn. Managers will make the pick in order.

We can discuss and make the criteria easier or harder.

Or a more fun Messi/Ronaldo homage draft. Everyone must build a team can get the best of BOTH Messi or Ronaldo.

At the beginning of every round, the mod will randomly pick half managers who need to play Messi and other half who get to play Ronaldo. It will be a head to head between Messi vs Ronaldo managers. So better build a team that can adapt to both players.

Same continues for other rounds till the final Messi vs Ronaldo head to head finals will decide the Draft GOAT of Modern Era!

Just waiting for people to chime in whether they want a sheep draft.
If you want to run the next draft, it's your privilege to have the last word on the rules or the theme IMO.

Another option would be to gather the main suggestions/ideas submitted in the last pages - and then - to have a short-list so that interested posters will vote.

As usual, the main question is: do you want 'new players' or the 'usual suspects' at the end?

If you want all the GOAT to available, then no restrictions.

If you want to discover new players or make the drafting more challenging, then you need a filter.

Think an all-time and a fairly open, yet challenging sheep draft (in a similar vein to the second sheep draft run by the evil Skizzo/Balu would be cracking), esp since the last two drafts featured slightly restricted pools.

It was just a suggestion by me, not sure what @The Stain has in store for us, though you can hardly go wrong with the sheep format.
