Default Rule:

- This rule applies when you land in a box that doesn't have a pool. For example, a replace box without any players qualified to be replaced.
- Draft Master's at his discretion can also open up the pool to select qualifying situations as necessary.

@Edgar Allan Pillow with a block list in place and injuries before the reinforcement round think is better to have an open pool for reinforcement, otherwise it might become a bit stale.

Don't mind. Open pool is as good. I'll update the rules.
Cheers. Like the injuries before certain round, will spice things up and probably require managers to change formations depending on who they can sub on/reinforce with.

Are the injured players available for later rounds or gone for good?

Otherwise looks pretty good to me.

Think you are done with the board, but if you take suggestions - a late bloomer box - something like played less than 100 games at top level before turning 23.

I just got an idea for the next draft.

The 4-Way Draft:

16 managers will be split into 4 groups of 4 each. Each group will have separate restrictions:

Group A: Clubs
Draft Managers in this group can only pick players who played for the respective club of their choice.

Group B: Managers
Draft Managers in this group can only pick players who played for the respective manager of their choice.

Group C: Country
Draft Managers in this group can only pick players who played for the respective country of their choice.

Group D: Decades
Draft Managers in this group can only pick players who played in the decade of their choice.

It would be a direct elimination style draft.

1 vs 2 | 2 vs 4 within each group. Winners play each other to get a Group Winner.
Club Winner vs Country Winner | Managers Winner vs Decade Winner
Finals!

All reinforcements will have to follow the initial restrictions.

Opinions?

Note: If managers is a tight pool, I can expand and permit 2 managers per draft player (overlaps permitted)

Don't want to interrupt but how does this all work? I'm interested but I'm aware the regulars have the spots. Just curious is all.

I'm aware it states rules at the start. But what happens after you choose a team etc?

You are the welcome. We need to have some new challengers to refresh things.

We have one draft per month and the next one will start in 3-4 weeks I think.

To sum up, there are 16 posters, criteria and you are invited to select the players you like but that fit the criteria. You have 14 players and can build a starting 11.

If you win a game, then you have the right to add new players

Then, there are games like this one:

There is no such thing as regulars having the spots or anything mate, anyone is open to joining and it's just a fun (and at time informative) game.

Initially you have the drafting process (depending on the draft - snake, sheep, auction or heck even a monopoly one which is going on right now). Then after everyone has their sides, you generally have knockout games where you square up against another drafter.

Thanks a lot for the clarification. So the games are essentially voted on - that makes sense (I wondered whether you'd financed a hi-tech odds algorithm that gave you a result).

I'm keen to get involved but will wait my turn. My football knowledge earlier than 1996 is very limited though...

So was mine before I joined these drafts. Still not great, but at least it's improved a lot since my first draft.

You can join in as a assistant manager partnering with an experienced drafter. May give you insights on how players are rated, who like which player etc etc. Softer introduction!

Thanks. I'm following this monopoly one to begin with, but tactics and formation wise it seems to me that a fair few posters favour the romance side of the draft, bringing up players i have never heard of or seen yet are able to argue how amazing they are because everyone else is like, ah yeh i member them too!! Memberrrrrr??!?!

It's fun if you build to your content and not just to win. Just build your favourite fantasy. Cal usually builds modern player teams and is quite successful at that too. So no need to go all retro!

There are posters who only select contemporary players they know very well, some who like to discover and choose old-school players, some focused on tactics...

No clear-cut ideology

How are you planning on assigning?

Do the groups randomly and then have an initial round of drafting for us to Category Choice we make?

You also have players like @Ecstatic that refuse to ever draft a proper RB for some strange reason. I think a RB must have injured him when he was younger so he refuses to acknowledge the position ;)

Pretty sure that somewhere they simulate the games using the PES database, so you're not far off

It would've been fun to try something like that using FM series even though creating a database from the scratch requires enormous amount of time and energy

I thought of that actually!

There is this database somewhere already made for FM2015 where he already imported 1000 classic players from that decade long PESSTATS project but it has to be used with specific 15.1 version of FM 2015 iirc

http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/foot...ootball-legends-greatest-database-so-far.html

Maybe one day this summer we could try something like that FM draft but with classic players from draft community. I don't have FM2015 on my current computer but I could always redownload and install this if there is interest

I only pick players I know really. There are some posters with an insane knowledge. Best thing to do is read up on players that play the position you're looking to fill and then study if their style of play fits what you want.

I've got a set criteria I want to fill this draft so I'll be drafting with that in mind. I find its the most fun when you have an ideal in your head.
